Webster's Dooley Named ABCA/Rawlings All-American
ST. LOUIS - Steven Dooley, starting pitcher for the
Webster University baseball team, has been named
to the 2013 ABCA/Rawlings All-American Team.
Dooley, a graduating senior, was voted to the
All-American Third Team and becomes the third
Gorlok pitcher in the last four years to receive
the honor.
Dooley was named the ABCA/Rawlings 2013 Central Region
Pitcher of the Year last week, and earlier this
month was chosen as the St. Louis Intercollegiate
Athletic Conference 2013 Pitcher of the Year. Dooley
also received SLIAC First Team All-Conference
recognition, and was named the Most
Valuable Player in the 2013 SLIAC
Tournament.
Dooley wound up 10-3 on the year, with a 2.69 earned run
average and 71 strikeouts. Along with
teammate Isaac Behme, he set a Webster single
season record for wins. Dooley finishes his career
at Webster first on the all-time high list in
appearances (58), second in wins (21) and
strikeouts (209), and fourth in ERA (3.02).
Gorlok Will Savage (2007-10) was named to the ABCA/Rawlings
All-Amercan First Team in 2010, and David Mueller
(2010-12) was named to the All-American Second
Team in 2012.
