Webster’s Lasky Named to JSR 2013 All-America Team
Corey Lasky, a junior outfielder from Vernon Hills, IL, has been
named to the 2013 College All-America Baseball Team by the Jewish
Sports Review. Lasky, who transferred from the College of
Lake County to Webster this past year, was a First Team selection
to the team that includes the NCAA II, NCAA III, and NAIA
divisions.
Lasky anchored the #2 spot in the Gorlok lineup and was among the
team leaders in batting (.337-2nd), runs (40-3rd), stolen bases
(24-2nd), triples (5-1st), and total bases (74-3rd). Lasky
was St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference All-Conference
Honorable Mention.
Webster's baseball team advanced to the NCAA III championships
this past spring, finishing fifth in the College World Series for a
second straight season.
Lasky becomes the second Webster athlete to be named a JSR
All-American. Katy Meyers was named to the JSR All-America
women's basketball team for two straight seasons, 2009-10 and
2010-11.
