Lasky Named JSR All-American 2nd Straight Year

Corey Lasky, a senior from Vernon Hills, IL (Adlai E Stevenson HS), landed on the Jewish Sports Review College All-America Baseball Team for the second straight year.  Lasky was a 2014 First Team selection in the outfield, as he was in 2013.  He was named to the team that includes players from the NCAA II and III Divisions, as well as the NAIA.

Lasky earned spots on the ABCA/Rawlings and d3baseball.com All-Central Region First Teams, and was a St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference First Team All-Conference selection as well.  He led the team in hits (72), runs (51), and stolen bases (14), as he batted a robust .385 on the year.  In two seasons for the Gorloks, Lasky had a .362 batting average and piled up 131 hits, 91 runs, 38 stolen bases, and had a .409 on-base percentage.

In the field, Lasky was nearly flawless as he made only two errors in 188 chances in the outfield.  Lasky had committed no errors in 2014 until a tough call was ruled an error in the season's final game.

Webster's baseball team won a fifth straight SLIAC Tournament and a fifth straight trip to the NCAA Regionals in 2014, finishing with a 37-7 record..

Lasky becomes the second Webster athlete to be named a JSR All-American two straight years.  Katy Meyers was named to the JSR All-America women's basketball team for two straight seasons, 2009-10 and 2010-11.
