SLIAC Seven Named D3baseball.com All-Region

Seven St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SLIAC) baseball players earned D3baseball.com All-Region honors for their standout seasons. The seven include Tyler Branneky, Josh Fleming, Jeff Kammer, Matt Mokriakow, Ryan Mosby, Will Miller, and Kyle Uhrich. In addition Fleming was named the All-Central Region Rookie of the Year while Webster University head coach Bill Kurich was named Coach of the Year. 

Webster University, who advanced to the upcoming NCAA Division III Championship 'World Series', led all SLIAC teams with three members on the All-Region team. Josh Fleming, a pitcher from Columbia, Ill., and Kyle Uhrich, a first baseman from St. Louis, Mo., were both named First Team while Jeff Kammer, a senior third baseman from Chesterfield, Mo., earned Third Team honors. Fleming stepped right into the Gorloks rotation and is 7-2 on the mound with a 2.21 earned-run average with 83 strikeouts in 81.1 innings pitched. Kammer is hitting .394 with nine home runs and 42 runs batted in while Uhrich is currently tied for the Division III lead with 17 home runs this season while hitting .364 with 61 runs batted in.

Westminster College's Tyler Branneky and Will Miller were recognized as All-Central Region members this year with both players being named to the Second Team. Branneky, a junior third baseman from St. Louis, Mo., was the 2015 SLIAC Player of the Year after leading the Blue Jays with a .413 batting average. He broke the school record for runs batted in this season with 45 and finished with a .690 slugging percentage. Miller, a junior pitcher from Oakville, Mo., finished the season with a perfect 6-0 record on the mound, compiling a 1.69 earned-run average and striking out 64 batters in 69.1 innings pitched. 

Blackburn College's Matt Mokriakow and Spalding University's Ryan Mosby each picked up All-Region recognition as well. Mokriakow, a junior from Glen Carbon, Ill., was named Third Team outfielder after finishing second in the conference with a .437 batting average. He added three home runs and finished with a team high 36 runs batted in while stealing eight bases. Mosby, a senior from Louisville, Ky., earned Third Team honors as a utility player. Mosby was 6-1 on the mound with a 2.29 earned run average, and was named the 2015 SLIAC Pitcher of the Year, while also hitting .381 with seven home runs and finishing with 12 stolen bases.
