Webster's Uhrich Named NCBWA Honorable Mention Player of the Week

Kyle Uhrich, a sophomore first baseman on the Webster University baseball team, was the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) 'Honorable Mention' NCAA III Hitter of the Week.

Uhrich (St. Louis, MO/Webster Groves HS) batted.474 on the week with five home runs and 12 runs batted in while scoring eight runs. He picked up a hit in all five games including three multi-hit games and drove in three runs on four separate occasions, as the Gorloks went 4-1 on the week.  He hit two home runs in a game twice, against Iowa Wesleyan and Illinois Wesleyan, and finished the week with a 1.263 slugging percentage while striking out just once.

Uhrich was named the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Diamond Sports Hitter of the Week earlier for his performance.

The NCBWA names one NCAA III national hitter and pitcher as players of the week during the season, and makes honorable mention for one hitter and pitcher as well.
