Baseball Gorloks Wind Up Ranked #8 in Final ABCA Poll

The Webster University baseball team wound up ranked #8 nationally in the ABCA/Collegiate Baseball NCAA III final poll for 2015.  The Gorloks (34-15) jumped from #24 in the final regular season poll to #8 on the backs of their Central Regional Championship and their third World Series appearance in four years.

Webster won the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference regular season title with an 18-4 record.  But after being upset in the SLIAC tournament, Webster received an at-large bid to the Central Regional from the NCAA III selection committee based on its record and strength of schedule.  The Gorloks didn't disappoint at Waterloo, IA, where they swept four straight for the program's third regional championship in four years.

The Gorloks faced the #1 ranked, and eventual 2015 champion, SUNY-Cortland (45-4) in the first round of the NCAA Championships 'World Series', losing to the Red Dragons.  Webster was eliminated by Ramapo College (NJ), ranked #12 in the final poll, in the second round.

During the 2015 season, Webster had victories over Wisconsin-Stevens Point (#10), Rhodes College (#11), and Carthage College (IL), Marietta College (OH),  Concordia-Chicago, and Washington University, all also receiving votes in the final poll.
