Webster's Uhrich Named NCAA Division III Home Run Leader

Webster University baseball player, Kyle Uhrich, has been declared the 2014-15 NCAA Division III statistical champion for Total Home Runs.  Uhrich (SO, St. Louis, MO/Webster Groves HS) belted 17 round-trippers in 2015, setting a single season record for Webster.

Uhrich, a first baseman/pitcher for the Gorloks, batted .354, with 63 RBIs, 39 runs scored, a .697 slugging percentage, and 136 total bases on the season.  The 63 RBIs ties Uhrich for second highest total in a single season for Webster with Joe Biagini (2009).  His 17 home runs eclipsed the record set by Victor Valdez of 16 in 2010.

Uhrich's award winning season included being named an American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA)/Rawlings 2015 All-American (Second Team) and a 2015 d3baseball.com Honorable Mention All-American.  He was also named to the 2015 ABCA/Rawlings Central All-Region First Team, the d3baseball.com Central All-Region First Team, and was a St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference 2015 First Team All-Conference selection as well.

A pitcher as well for the Gorloks, Uhrich pitched in six games, striking out 17 in 9 2/3 shutout innings, while giving up just two hits and four walks.

As a team, Webster earned its third trip in four years to the NCAA III Championship ‘World Series’ in 2015, winding up ranked eighth nationally with a 34-15 record.
