SLIAC Baseball Players of the Week - March 14

This week's St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Baseball Players of the Week are: Kam Bruner, from Spalding University, and Dillon Reel, from Greenville College.

SLIAC/DIAMOND SPORTS BASEBALL HITTER OF THE WEEK
KAM BRUNER - SPALDING UNIVERSITY

Kam Bruner is the SLIAC/Diamond Sports Baseball Hitter of the Week for the second consecutive week after continuing his hot start to the season. Bruner hit .583 over three games last week, driving in seven and helping the Golden Eagles pick up three wins. Bruner started the week with a 3-for-4 game against Transylvania, driving in three runs in an 11-10 win. He followed with a hit in a 3-0 win over DeSales and closed out the week by going 3-for-5 with a home run and three runs batted in during a 4-3 win over Mary Hardin-Baylor. Bruner was 7-for-12 on the week with four runs scored and finished with a 1.167 slugging percentage.

 

SLIAC/DIAMOND SPORTS BASEBALL PITCHER OF THE WEEK
DILLON REEL - GREENVILLE COLLEGE

Reel, a senior from Mattoon, Ill., picks up SLIAC/Diamond Sports Baseball Pitcher of the Week honors after keying his team to a 2-0 conference victory over MacMurray College. Reel went eight innings in the contest, allowing just one hit and two walks while striking out six. Reel carried a no-hitter until two outs into the sixth inning. Reel is currently 1-2 on the season with eight strikeouts through 16 innings pitched.



Other Notables:

  • Dathan Berning, Greenville College (Baseball) Berning went 6-for-13 over four games last week, including four runs batted in and three stolen bases.  
  • Jack Bensinger, Webster University (Baseball) Bensinger picked up the win over #25 ranked Linfield, going nine innings and allowing one run on six hits with two strikeouts.
  • Drake Hardin, MacMurray College (Baseball) Hardin had three multi-hit games last week, finishing with a .412 batting average over a four game span.
