SLIAC Baseball Players of the Week - March 28

This week's St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Players of the Week are: Luke Jarvis, from MacMurray College and Drew Johnson, from MacMurray College.

SLIAC/DIAMOND SPORTS BASEBALL HITTER OF THE WEEK
DREW JOHNSON - MacMURRAY COLLEGE

Drew Johnson, a senior outfielder from Creal Springs, Ill., is this week's SLIAC Hitter of the Week. Johnson hit .429 on the week with three home runs and six runs batted, helping his team to a pair of conference wins; and hitting a home run in three consecutive games. Johnson started the week by going 3-for-4 with a home run and three RBI in their series opener against Eureka. He followed with two hits, including another long ball, and two more RBI in a win over Eureka in game two. Johnson ripped his third home run of the week, a solo shot, in his team's 1-0 win over Webster. On the week Johnson finished with a 1.143 slugging percentage while scoring six runs.


SLIAC/DIAMOND SPORTS BASEBALL PITCHER OF THE WEEK
LUKE JARVIS - MacMURRAY COLLEGE

Luke Jarvis, a junior from Kankakee, Ill., is this week's SLIAC/Diamond Sports Pitcher of the Week after a dominating performance against Webster. Jarvis recorded a no-hitter for the Highlanders; going seven hitless innings while striking out 10. He allowed just two base runners in the game, a hit batter and an error. Jarvis retired 16 straight batters at one point in the game including striking out the side in the second inning. Jarvis is currently in the top five in the SLIAC in wins, earned-run average and strikeouts per nine innings.

  • Kam Bruner, Spalding University (Baseball) - Bruner went 6-for-11 with five RBI over three games last week.
  • Mike Hardin, Greenville College (Baseball) - Hardin hit three home runs in the Panthers 10-5 win over St. Norbert.
  • Jimi Keating, Spalding University (Baseball) - Keating went seven innings, striking out nine and allowing just one hit in a shutout win over Principia.
  • Blake Thomas, Webster University (Baseball) - Thomas was 2-for-3 with a home run and four RBI in his team's win over Eureka.
  • Ray Vogel, Eureka College (Baseball) Vogel went 3-for-3 with two stolen bases while scoring his team's only run in a loss to Webster.
