SLIAC Baseball Players of the Week - May 9

This week's St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Players of the Week are: Jeff Kammer, from Webster University and Collin Brinker, from Westminster College.

 

SLIAC/DIAMOND SPORTS BASEBALL HITTER OF THE WEEK
JEFF KAMMER - WEBSTER UNIVERSITY

Jeff Kammer is the SLIAC/Diamond Sports Baseball Hitter of the Week for the final week of the 2016 season after helping the Gorloks pick up three wins last week. Kammer picked up multiple hits in all three games, including a home run in each contest. Kammer went 2-for-4 with a home run and four runs batted in during both games of a double header against Blackburn. He followed by going 3-for-5 with a home run against Rose-Hulman. On the week Kammer hit .538 with three home runs and nine RBI, finishing with a .1308 slugging percentage.

COLLIN BRINKER - WESTMINSTER COLLEGE

Collin Brinker is the final SLIAC/Diamond Sports Baseball Pitcher of the Week for the 2016 season. Brinker, a senior from Auxvasse, Mo., recorded a win and a save in the final week of the regular season for the Blue Jays. Brinker came on in relief to record a save in the Blue Jays game one win over Spalding. Brinker worked two scoreless innings, allowing just one hit, while striking out four. In game two Brinker took the ball for the start, working five innings and allowing just one run on one hits while striking out three. On the week Brinker held a 1.29 earned-run average over seven innings, allowing two hits and striking out seven.

Other Notables:

  • Sawyer Grow, Principia College (Baseball)- Went 9 1/3 innings against MacMurray, allowing just one earned run and seven hits while striking out three.
  • Travis Ralls, Greenville College (Baseball)- Recorded three hits in all three games played last week, hitting .750 on the week.
