SLIAC Baseball/Diamon Sports Players of the Week - April 10

This week's SLIAC/Diamond Sports Baseball Players of the Week are Josh Fleming, from Webster University and Ryan Schocker, from Fontbonne University.

 

SLIAC/DIAMOND SPORTS HITTER OF THE WEEK - APRIL 10
RYAN SCHOCKER, FONTBONNE UNIVERSITY

Ryan Schocker, from Fontbone University, is the SLIAC/Diamond Sports Baseball Hitter of the Week. Schocker, a junior from Schaumburg, Ill., led a potent Griffin offense that scored 43 runs over six games last week. He hit .520 on the week with two home runs and 13 runs batted, going 13-of-25 at the plate. Schocker recorded a hit in all six games and drove in at least one run in five of the games. He had four multi-hit games including a high of four hits in a win over MacMurray. Schocker added a grand slam home run against Spalding for the winning runs as well.


SLIAC/DIAMOND SPORTS PITCHER OF THE WEEK - APRIL 10
JOSH FLEMING, WEBSTER UNIVERSITY

Josh Fleming is this week's SLIAC/Diamond Sports Pitcher of the Week. Fleming, a junior at Webster University, recorded a pair of conference wins last week to move to 4-0 on the season. Fleming started the week with six scoreless innings of one-hit ball in a win over MacMurray, striking out nine. He followed with seven innings of work against Iowa Wesleyan, holding the Tigers to just one run and two hits while striking out nine. On the week Fleming recorded a 0.69 earned-run average over 13 innings pitched, striking out 18 while walking none and allowing just three hits.

  • Tanner Branneky, Westminster College (Baseball) Branneky picked up four hits, with two home runs, and six runs batted in during a doubleheader sweep of Principia.
  • Sam Huesgen, Westminster College (Baseball) Huesgen picking up a win over Principia, working seven scoreless innings and allowing just four hits while striking out nine.
  • Clay Kelly, Spalding University (Baseball) Kelly hit .563 with six runs scored and five RBI while helping the Golden Eagles to three conference wins last week.
  • Adam Lamb, Greenville College (Baseball) Lamb recorded a complete game shutout against Blackburn, going seven innings and allowing just six hits.
  • Travis Ralls, Greenville College (Baseball) Ralls hit .579 with seven RBI over five games last week including a walk-off single in a win over Fontbonne.
  • Alex Stamos, Principia College (Baseball) Stamos recorded a win over Eureka, going nine innings and allowing just one run on four hits.
  • Matt Wollnik, Webster University (Baseball) Wollnik went 3-for-4 with four RBI in a win over Iowa Wesleyan, finishing the doubleheader with five hits.
