2010-11 Men's Basketball Players of the Week

Cody Bradfisch (Webster)
Webster University's Cody Bradfisch, a sophomore from Jerseyville, Ill., has been named the SLIAC Men's Basketball Player of the Week for the week of February 14-20.

Bradfisch, a 6-2 guard, averaged 18.5 points per game in two games played last week. He finished with 22 points on 8-of-12 (.667) shooting from the field, including 4-of-6 (.667) from behind the arc in Webster's 71-62 loss on the road at Westminster College (Mo.). Bradfisch led the Gorloks' second half effort by hitting 3-of-3 from long range to help cut their 20-point deficit down to just four points. He also added three rebounds, two assists and two steals in the loss.

Bradfisch continued his hot shooting in a 68-50 win versus Greenville College. He came off the bench to shoot 7-of-15 (.715) from the field and 3-of-3 (1.000) from three-point range to finish with 15 points. He also added three rebounds, one assist and one steal in the win.

Feb 7-13
CJ McClellan (MacMurray)
MacMurray College's CJ McClellan, a senior from Forsyth, Ill. (Maroa-Forsyth), has been named the SLIAC Men's Basketball Player of the Week for the week of February 7-13. This marks the third time this season that he has earned the honor.

McClellan, a 6-4 point guard, averaged 21.7 points, 7.3 assists, 6.7 rebounds and 2.7 steals in three games played last week. He started the week with a 22 point, nine assist and eight rebound performance to help lead MacMurray to an 80-67 win over Fontbonne University. McClellan scored another 22 points and recorded six rebounds and six assists in a 91-77 win against Greenville College. The two conference victories secured a spot for the Highlanders in the Conference Tournament for the second consecutive year.

McClellan also added 21 points on 7-of-10 (.700) shooting from the field, 3-of-4 (.750) from three-point range and 4-of-4 (1.000) from the charity stripe in an 84-78 victory versus non-conference opponent Concordia Seminary (Mo.). His 21 points helped him surpass the 1,000-career point plateau, and he also added seven assists, six rebounds and four steals in the win. McClellan's six assists versus Greenville also helped him to become the all-time assists leader in MacMurray history, breaking a record that had stood since 1989. He now has a total of 357 career assists.

Josh Wagner (Eureka)
Eureka College's Josh Wagner, a senior from Roanoke, Ill. (Roanoke-Benson), has been named the SLIAC Men's Basketball Player of the Week for the week of January 31-February 6.

Wagner, a 6-7 forward, recorded his fifth career double-double with 18 points and 15 rebounds as the Red Devils defeated Fontbonne University 84-76. He shot 8-of-16 (.500) from the field, while also dishing out two assists to lead Eureka to their first Conference win this season.

Dewhon McAfee (Spalding)

Spalding University's Dewhon McAfee, a junior from Louisville, Ky. (Butler), has been named the SLIAC Men's Basketball Player of the Week for the week of January 24-30. This marks the second time this season that he has earned the honor.

McAfee, a 6-0 guard, helped lead the Golden Eagles to two victories last week with an average of 20.0 points and 6.5 assists per game, while also shooting .538 (14-of-26) from the field, .400 (4-of-10) from three-point range and .727 (8-of-11) from the charity stripe.

McAfee scored 29 points on 9-of 14 (.642) shooting from the field, 3-of-6 (.500) from behind the arc and 8-of-10 (.800) from the free throw line in an 81-47 victory versus Eureka College. He also dished out five assists and tallied two steals in the win. McAfee added 11 points, eight assists, three rebounds, one block and one steal in a 70-59 win over Westminster College (Mo.).

Jan 17-23
CJ McClellan (MacMurray)
MacMurray College's CJ McClellan, a senior from Forsyth, Ill. (Maroa-Forsyth), has been named the SLIAC Men's Basketball Player of the Week for the week of January 17-23. This marks the second consecutive week that he has earned the honor.

McClellan, a 6-4 point guard, averaged 18.5 points, 11.0 assists and 9.5 rebounds in two games played last week. He recorded a triple-double with 22 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists in a 101-87 victory versus Principia College. He shot 7-of-14 (.500) from the field, 3-of-4 (.750) from the field and 5-of-6 (.833) from the free throw line, while also committing zero turnovers.

McClellan was one rebound shy of a second triple-double for the week as he had 15 points, 12 assists and nine rebounds in an 89-88 loss to Greenville College. He also had three steals and one block in the loss.

CJ McClellan (MacMurray)
MacMurray College's CJ McClellan, a senior from Forsyth, Ill. (Maroa-Forsyth), has been named the SLIAC Men's Basketball Player of the Week for the week of January 10-16.

McClellan, a 6-4 point guard, helped lead the Highlanders to an 80-73 victory versus Fontbonne University with 26 points on 8-of-16 (.500) shooting from the field, including 4-of-8 (.500) from three-point range and 6-of-6 (1.000) from the charity stripe. He also grabbed five rebounds, dished out six assists and recorded two steals and one block in the win. MacMurray was clinging to a one-point lead late in the game when McClellan hit a three-pointer to give his team a cushion with two minutes to go. He then added a steal within the final two minutes to solidify the victory.

McClellan also added 16 points, seven rebounds, two assists, two blocks and one steal in a 58-48 win on the road at Eureka College. He finished 7-of-14 (.500) from the field and 2-of-5 (.400) from behind the arc.

Dewhon McAfee (Spalding)
Spalding University's Dewhon McAfee, a junior from Louisville, Ky. (Butler), has been named the SLIAC Men's Basketball Player of the Week for the week of January 3-9.

McAfee, a 6-0 guard, averaged 23.7 points in three games played last week. He also averaged 5.0 rebounds, 3.3 assists and 2.3 steals as the Golden Eagles went 3-0 in conference play.

McAfee's best performance of the week was 35 points, eight rebounds, five steals and five assists in an 87-76 victory versus MacMurray College. He shot 12-of-19 (.631) from the field, 4-of-6 (.666) from three point range and 7-of-8 (.875) from the charity stripe. McAfee had 22 points and seven rebounds in a 65-56 win over Blackburn College, and he also added 14 points, four assists and two steals in a 90-76 win versus Greenville College.

Dylan Burton (MacMurray)
MacMurray College's Dylan Burton, a freshman from Girard, Ill., has been named the SLIAC Men's Basketball Player of the Week for the week of December 20-January 2.

Burton, a 6-4 small forward, averaged 18.5 points in two games played over the holiday break and was selected to the All-Tournament Team at the Defiance College Purple and Gold Tournament. He had 14 points, three steals, three blocks and two rebounds in an 80-65 loss to Albion College. Burton then scored 23 points on 10-of-14 (.714) shooting from the field and recorded six rebounds and six blocks as the Highlanders defeated Ohio State University-Lima 88-78.

Willie Trimble (Webster)
Webster University's Willie Trimble, a junior from San Bernardino, Calif. (Riverside CC), has been named the SLIAC Men's Basketball Player of the Week for the week of December 13-19. This marks the second time this season that he has earned the honor.

Trimble, a 5-11 guard, helped lead the Gorloks to the Lon Varnell Classic Championship at Sewanee last week. He scored 15 points on 5-of-11 (.455) shooting from the field and 2-of-3 (.667) from behind the arc in a 59-57 victory versus host school Sewanee. He also added four assists, two rebounds and two steals in the win. Trimble recorded 21 points and went 9-of-10 (.900) from the charity stripe as Webster defeated Berry College 76-71 to win the Classic. He also had six rebounds, six assists and three steals in the game and was named to the All-Classic Team.

Skylar Tolson (Westminster (Mo.))
Westminster College's Skylar Tolson, a sophomore from Columbia, Mo. (Rock Bridge), has been named the SLIAC Men's Basketball Player of the Week for the week of December 6-12.

Tolson, a 6-2 guard, recorded 16 points on 5-of-15 (.333) shooting from the floor, including 3-of-8 (.375) from behind the arc and 3-of-4 (.750) from the charity stripe. He also added eight rebounds and seven assists as the Blue Jays dropped a 73-71 non-conference decision to Illinois College.

Todd Zimmerman (Principia)
Principia College's Todd Zimmerman, a senior from Nashville, Tenn. (Hume-Fogg), has been named the SLIAC Men's Basketball Player of the Week for the week of November 29-December 5. This marks the second consecutive week that he has earned the honor.

Zimmerman, a 6-2 guard, shot 55.6 percent from the field, 55.6 percent from behind the arc and 84.6 percent from the free throw line, while averaging 36 points per game, 7.5 rebounds per game and 6.0 assists per game last week. He scored 38 points, grabbed nine rebounds and tallied five assists and four steals in a 90-87 victory on the road at Eureka College. He was 9-of-16 (.563) from the field, 6-of-9 (.667) from three-point range and 14-of-16 (.875) from the charity stripe in the win.

In an 84-83, buzzer-beater loss to Fontbonne University, Zimmerman recorded 34 points, seven rebounds, seven assists, two steals and three blocks. He shot 11-of-20 (.550) from the field, 4-of-9 (.444) from three-point range and 8-of-10 (.800) from the free throw line.

Nov 22-28
Todd Zimmerman (Principia)
Principia College's Todd Zimmerman, a senior from Nashville, Tenn. (Hume-Fogg), has been
named the SLIAC Men's Basketball Player of the Week for the week of November 22-28.

Zimmerman, a 6-2 guard, recorded 22 points, five rebounds and five assists in a 69-65 Principia win versus St. Louis College of Pharmacy. He shot .539 (7-of-13) from the field, including .600 (6-of-10) from three-point range, while also adding three steals and one block. The game was the first time this season that Zimmerman had played (including practice) with the Panthers.

Nov 15-21
Willie Trimble (Webster)
Webster University's Willie Trimble, a junior from San Bernadino, Calif. (Riverside CC), has been named the SLIAC Men's Basketball Player of the Week for the week of November 15-21.

Trimble, a 5-11 guard, averaged 20.0 points, 5.0 assists, 3.5 rebounds and shot .478 (11-of-23) from the field as Webster opened the 2010-11 season with two victories. He shot 7-of-12 (.583) from the field and finished with 18 points, six assists, six rebounds, two steals and one block in the Gorloks 67-60 season-opening win over Sewanee. Trimble added 22 points, four assists, three steals and shot an astounding 14-for-16 (.875) from the free throw line to lead his squad to a 74-60 win versus Nebraska Wesleyan University.

For his efforts, Trimble was named Most Valuable Player at the Cavallo Classic, which was hosted by Webster.
