SLIAC Announces 2011 Men's Basketball All-Conference Teams and Award Winners

St. Louis, Mo. – The St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SLIAC) has announced the 2011 Men's Basketball All-Conference Teams and award winners.

Spalding University's DeWhon McAfee was named Player of the Year, while MacMurray College's Dylan Burton was tabbed as Newcomer of the Year. McAfee, a junior guard, averaged 20.8 points per game in conference play and helped lead the Golden Eagles to a share of the regular season conference title. Burton, a freshman forward, averaged 14.4 points per game and posted a .559 field goal percentage in the SLIAC.

Spalding University head coach Kevin Gray was selected as Coach of the Year in only the second year as a member of the SLIAC. He led his squad to a 17-8 overall record, 13-3 in conference play and a share of the SLIAC regular season championship.

Greenville College received the Sportsmanship Award for the fourth consecutive year.
