2015-16 Men's Basketball Players of the Week

February 22
Brandon Goeing, Spalding University
Goeing, a senior guard, helped his team claim the final spot into the conference tournament, playing a key role in his team's two wins last week. Goeing scored 20 points, knocking down five three-pointers, in his team's win over Webster. In the final regular season game of the season Goeing netted 30 points, on 8-of-12 shooting, while adding five assists. On the week Goeing averaged 25.0 points, 4.5 assists, and 2.0 rebounds per game. He shot 54.2 percent from the field and knocked down 53-percent of his three point attempts. In addition Goeing connected on 15-of-16 free-three attempts.

February 15
Deavis Johnson, MacMurray College
Johnson, a senior from East St. Louis, Mo., averaged a double-double in two conference wins last week, helping his team remain tied for first-place in the SLIAC standings. Johnson tallied 23 points, on 10-of-15 shooting, with 17 rebounds in a win over Webster; adding five assists. Johnson then sparked his team to a win over Spalding, scoring 22 points and grabbing nine rebounds. Johnson scored a team high 12 points in the second-half of the game, leading his team back from a five point halftime deficit. On the week Johnson averaged 22.5 points, 13.0 rebounds, and 4.0 assists per game. This marks the second time this season he has taken home weekly honors.

February 8
Shea Feehan, Eureka College
Feehan, a freshman from Peoria, Ill., was dominant in two games last week, with his team coming up just short; suffering two losses by a combined six points. Feehan scored more than a point per minute in each game, averaging 35.0 points per game. Feehan scored 34 points in a 105-100 loss to MacMurray, adding nine rebounds and two assists in the contest. He followed with 36 points in a narrow 91-90 loss to Westminster. Feehan shot 71-percent from the field on the week, averaging 6.5 rebounds and 3.0 assists over the two games.

February 1
Michael Hohm, Greenville College
Hohm, a junior guard from Decatur, Ill., stepped up for the Panthers last week in helping them to a pair of conference wins and keeping pace in the SLIAC standings. Hohm averaged 25.0 points, 4.5 assists, and 4.0 steals over the two games while shooting 64.5 percent from the field and committing just one turnover on the week. He started the week with 21 points, five assists, and five steals in a win over Westminster. Hohm then scored a career high 29 points in a win over Blackburn, shooting 12-of-16 from the field, and adding four assists. With three steals in that game he also set a new school record for steals in a season and currently leads the conference and ranks second nationally in steals per game.

January 25
Sam Feehan, Eureka College
Feehan, a senior from Peoria, Ill., played the role of scorer and facilitator in two games last week for Eureka. Feehan led his team in scoring with 33 points against Greenville and followed with 18 points and six assists in a win over Principia. Against Greenville, Feehan knocked down 13-of-17 shots including going perfect from three point range (3-for-3) and the free throw line (4-for-4). He followed with 18 points against Principia, also dishing out six assists and recording four steals. On the week Feehan shot 63.6 percent from the field, averaging 25.5 points, 3.0 rebounds, 5.0 assists, and 2.0 steals over two games.

January 18
Tim Daniel, Greenville College
Daniel, a senior forward from Palatine, Ill., helped the Panthers to a pair of conference wins last week while continuing his long rang assault. Daniel averaged 29.5 points over two games, knocking down 15 three-pointers on the week. He guided his team to a 129-100 win over Principia, finishing with 33 points and six rebounds while connecting on 9-of-16 three-pointers. He followed with 26 points and five rebounds with six steals in helping Greenville win their third straight game by topping Iowa Wesleyan. Daniel shot 56.7 percent from the field and was 15-of-27 from three point range. He currently leads NCAA Division III in three point field goals made.

January 11
Deavis Johnson, MacMurray College
Johnson, a senior from East St. Louis, Ill., had a week to remember. In a 118-113 win over Greenville he recorded 34 points and 21 rebounds, marking the fifth highest rebound total in NCAA Division III this season. He followed with 18 points and 10 rebounds against Webster, in which he recorded his 1,000th career point. On the week Johnson averaged 26.0 points and 15.5 rebounds over the two games while shooting 64-percent from the field. He added eight assists and four blocked shots and now has a conference best seven double-doubles this season.

January 4
Hunter Ward, Webster University
Ward, a junior from Kirkwood, Mo., nearly helped his team complete a come from behind effort against Blackburn. Ward scored 11 points in the final eight minutes of the game as his team came up four points short. Ward finished the contest with a game high 22 points and 13 rebounds while adding eight assists. He was 5-of-11 from the field with one three-pointer while also going 11-of-15 from the free-throw line. Ward also committed just one turnover in the game and added two steals. This is his second consecutive SLIAC Player of the Week award.

December 21
Hunter Ward, Webster University
Ward, a junior from Kirkwood, Mo., led the Gorloks to a pair of wins in the Cruzin Classic in Florida over the weekend. Ward led his team in scoring in both wins, tallying 26 points against Trinity Baptist and 19 points against Ave Maria. Ward was 10-of-12 shooting, with two three's, in his team's win over Trinity Baptist; adding eight rebounds and two steals. He followed with a double-double against Ave Maria, grabbing 14 rebounds and adding three steals to go with his 19 points. On the week Ward shot 64-percent from the field and averaged 22.5 points, 11.0 rebounds, and 2.5 steals per game.

December 14
Brent Long, MacMurray College
Long, a sophomore forward from Jacksonville, Ill., shouldered the load in a win over Principia last week, scoring a career high 29 points in just 24 minutes of action. Long was efficient in his limited playing time, going 12-of-13 from the field and adding five made free-throws. Long recorded six rebounds in the game along with one assist and one steal. Long is averaging 20.7 points per game this season, second best in the conference. He has four 20 point game this year and this marks the second time he has taken home the weekly award.

December 7
Greg Kent, Eureka College
Kent, a senior guard from Chicago, Ill., is this week's St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week after standing out in all aspects of the game last week. Kent nearly averaged a quadruple double; averaging 16.0 points, 11.0 rebounds, 7.5 assists, and 7.0 steals in two games. He totaled 16 points with 11 rebounds and nine assists in a win over Principia and followed with 16 points, 11 rebounds and eight steals against Spalding. Kent shot 52.4 percent from the floor and played in 78 of his team's 80 minutes on the week.

November 30
Brent Long, MacMurray College
Long, a sophomore from Jacksonville, Ill., is this week's SLIAC Men's Basketball Player of the Week after helping his team go 1-1 in the Cavallo Classic Tournament. Long averaged 22.5 points and 11.0 rebounds in two games during the tournament, earning All-Tournament honors. He netted a high of 26 points, grabbing 13 rebounds, in a win over Rust. He followed with 19 points, on 9-of-13 shooting, in just 26-minutes of action against Luther. Long shot 58.8 percent from the field on the week, going 20-of-34 from the floor.

November 23
Adaku Anumu, Principia College
Anumu, a junior transfer to the Panthers, was the leading scorer in all three of his team's wins last week; averaging 23.7 points per game. Anumu netted 25 points in the season opener and followed with 18 points in a win over Loras. Anumu wrapped up his week with a career high 28 points in a win over Lincoln Christian, shooting 10-of-14 from the field. On the week Anumu shot 59.5 percent from the field and knocked down 9-of-19 three point attempts. He added 4.7 rebounds per game and dished out six assists on the week.

November 16
Nick Trisko, Spalding University
Trisko, a junior from Lexington, Ky., is the SLIAC Men's Basketball Player of the Week after helping Spalding to a win in their season opener, while making his team debut. Trisko, a transfer, led all scorers with 25 points and 15 rebounds; leading the Golden Eagles to an 85-82 road win over Berea College. Trisko shot 9-of-17 from the field and 7-of-11 from the free-throw line. He grabbed four offensive rebounds and recorded two blocked shots and one steal as well.
