Iowa Wesleyan Men Earn 7th Seed In USCAA Tournament

The United States Collegiate Athletic Association announced the field for the 2017 Basketball National Tournament this afternoon.  The tournament is set to run from March 1, 2017 through March 4, 2017 in Uniontown, Pennsylvania on the campus of Penn State Fayette.

Iowa Wesleyan will be making their second appearance in the National Tournament under head coach, Alex Huisman. The Tigers are entering the tournament as the number seven seed and will take on the number two seed, Concordia College-Alabama. The Tigers will play their opening round game on March 1, 2017. Tipoff is scheduled for 5 pm EST in the Maltho Arena.

Iowa Wesleyan brings a 17-8 overall record into the National Tournament. They currently lead the USCAA in three pointers made per game with an average of 9.5.  The Tigers also lead all teams in the USCAA in points scored per contest.  Iowa Wesleyan has six players averaging double digits, including Steven Soukup (SR/Danville, IA), who leads the USCAA with an average of 26 points per game.
