Trio of SLIAC Players Earn D3hoops.com All-Region Honors

Kendahl Adams, Shea Feehan, and Hayley Reneau were each named to the 2017-18 D3hoops.com All-Region teams. Reneau was named Second Team while Adams earned Third Team honors in among women's basketball honorees with Shea Feehan bein the lone representative from the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference in men's basketball; being named Second Team.

Westminster College junior Kendahl Adams earned Third Team honors after leading the Blue Jays in numerous statistical categories this season. Adams averaged 19.4 points, 8.4 rebounds, 3.8 assists, and 1.6 steals per game this season. She led her team in scoring, three-pointers, free-throws, rebounds, and steals and was second in assists. Adams helped lead the Blue Jays to the SLIAC Women's Basketball Championship game and earned First Team All-Conference honors as well.

Eureka junior guard Shea Feehan (Peoria, Ill./Notre Dame H.S.) picked up Men's Basketball Second Team honors and is the fourth Red Devil to earn the regional honor from the website and the first Eureka men's basketball player to be honored by D3hoops.com in multiple seasons. An All-Central Region Third Team selection by D3hoops.com last season as a sophomore, Feehan joins Craig Negangard (2004 All-Midwest Region Third Team), Michael Zasada (2010 All-Midwest Region Second Team) and Mark Lessen (2014 All-Midwest Region Second Team) as Red Devils to earn All-Region honors from D3hoops.com. The 2018 SLIAC Men's Basketball Player of the Year, Feehan broke Eureka's single-season scoring record with 673 points. His per-game average of 30.6 ranked second nationally and broke his own Eureka record of 26.7 set last season. He became the first player in SLIAC history to average more than 30.0 points per game and broke the previous per-game scoring record of 27.9 set by Webster's Jeff Reis in 2000-01.

Additionally, Feehan was originally selected in mid-January as one of 100 players on the Watch List for the Bevo Francis Award from Small College Basketball. The award is presented annually to the player who has had the finest overall season within the affiliations of NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III, NAIA Division I, NAIA Division II, USCAA and NCCAA. Feehan ended his third season in a Eureka uniform ranked fourth in Eureka history and sixth in SLIAC history with 1,601 career points. 

Eureka College senior guard Hayley Reneau was named to the Women's Basketball All-Region Second Team and becomes Eureka's first D3hoops.com All-Region honoree since 2014. The 2018 SLIAC Women's Basketball Player of the Year, Reneau is the fifth Eureka women's basketball player to be named to D3hoops.com's regional postseason honor roll, joining Carrie Eisenbarth (2003), Jessica Reardon (2004), Nicole Fisher (2007, 2008) and Caty Eeten (2012, 2013, 2014). Reneau finished her final collegiate season with 21.4 points per game to lead the SLIAC and rank 10th among all NCAA Division III players. Her scoring average was also Eureka's fourth-highest in single-season program history and the best mark since Eeten netted 22.2 per game in 2012-13.

Additionally, Reneau's final season point total of 557 was third-most on the single-season Eureka list. The Washington native and NJCAA Illinois Central transfer also appeared in the program's single-season leaderboard with 76 3-pointers (second) and 198 field goals (third). Reneau was just as effective on the defensive end. She led the league and became the first player in program history to reach 100 steals in a season en route to setting a new single-season program mark of 101. She also blocked 28 shots to rank fourth among SLIAC defenders.

A two-time All-SLIAC First Team selection, Reneau's 944 career points ranked 18th on Eureka's all-time scoring list and were the most by a two-year player in program history. Her 144 career 3-pointers were fourth-most on Eureka's career list and she also ranked sixth at EC with 176 steals and seventh with 63 blocked shots since the two defensive stats were accurately tracked at Eureka beginning in 1992. 

Players were nominated for the D3hoops.com All-Region Teams by sports information directors at Division III institutions. There were more than 680 players nominated nationwide. The ballot was then made available to SIDs, who voted for a predetermined number of players in their region. It's the 17th season D3hoops.com has named All-Region teams.
