SLIAC Men's Basketball Player of the Week - Feb. 19
Micah Paulson, Principia College
Principia senior Micah Paulson had a memorable final week of his collegiate career; averaging 32.0 points per game in three contests and becoming the school's career scoring leader in his final game. Paulson scored 28 points on Senior Night, helping the Panthers to a win over Webster. He added six rebounds and six assists in the contest. He followed with 42 points against Blackburn, knocking down seven three-pointers, and closed out his career with 26 points against Webster in the season finale. On the week he averaged 32.0 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 5.0 assists per game while shooting 53-percent from the floor and hitting 15-of-33 three-pointers.
SLIAC Men's Basketball Player of the Week - Feb. 11
Dakota Bennington, Eureka College
Bennington receives his second consecutive, and third this season, Player of the Week award. The junior guard from Peoria, Illinois averaged 31.0 points and 8.5 rebounds in two games for the Red Devils last week. He tallied 22 points, with 11 rebounds and four assists, against Principia. He upped his point total with a career-high 40 points in a win over Fontbonne, adding six rebounds and four steals. For the week he shot 50-percent from the field and knocked down 16-of-19 from the free-throw line.
SLIAC Men's Basketball Player of the Week - Feb. 4
Dakota Bennington, Eureka College
Bennington wins his second weekly conference award this season after averaging a double-double in two games last week. The junior from Peoria, Illinois put up 25.5 points and 10.5 rebounds per game, shooting 55-percent from the field. He also dished out six assists in the two games and recorded three steals. Bennington finished with 25 points and three steals against Blackburn before helping his team to a win over Webster with a 26 point, 16 rebound, 5 assist effort.
SLIAC Men's Basketball Player of the Week - Jan. 28
Romo Tabb, Westminster College
Tabb, a senior forward, nearly averaged a double-double over three games for the Blue Jays last week. He opened with a career-high 36 points against Greenville, grabbing 14 rebounds and adding four assists and three blocks. Tabb followed with 21 points and nine rebounds against Blackburn before closing out his week with 13 points against Eureka. Tabb averaged 23.3 points and 9.3 rebounds per game on the week while shooting 64-percent from the field and contributing six assists, five blocks, and two steals.
SLIAC Men's Basketball Player of the Week - Jan. 21
Rodson Etienne, Webster University
Etienne, a sophomore from West Palm Beach, Fla., had a week to remember in leading the Gorloks to a pair of conference wins. Etienne recorded back to back 30 point games, becoming the first Gorlok to reach that mark in two straight games in 18 years. Etienne tallied 31 points and seven rebounds, with six assists, in a win over Greenville. He followed with 30 points and 13 rebounds against rival Fontbonne. On the week he averaged 30.5 points, 10.0 rebounds, and 5.0 assists per game while shooting 67-percent from the field.
SLIAC Men's Basketball Player of the Week - Jan. 14
Eric Williams, Greenville University
Eric Williams' performance last week led him to be named the SLIAC Player of the Week. Williams, a junior from Memphis, Tenn., scored a game-high 36 points in his team's win over Iowa Wesleyan, helping the Panthers remain undefeated in conference play. Williams was 15-of-29 from the field and added 10 rebounds with three assists and four steals in the contest. He scored 21 of his points in the first half, helping Greenville put up 83 points in the first 20 minutes of play.
SLIAC Men's Basketball Player of the Week - Jan. 7
Marcus Montgomery, Spalding University
Marcus Montgomery, a sophomore guard from Louisville, Ill., is the SLIAC Men's Basketball Player of the Week after averaging 26.0 points in five games over winter break. Montgomery reached double figures in scoring in all five games and tallied a school record 51 points against Greenville while adding two other 20-point games. He shot 59-percent from the field during the two-week stretch and connected on 17-of-32 three-pointers while also going 17-of-19 from the free-throw line.
SLIAC Men's Basketball Player of the Week - Dec. 17
Kobe Wands, Westminster College
Kobe Wands, a junior, busted out for 33 points in helping the Blue Jays to a win over Fontbonne. Wands tallied his game-high 33 points on 8-of-14 shooting, knocking down five three-pointers and going 12-for-12 from the free-throw line. Wands also grabbed two rebounds and dished out four assists in the win.
SLIAC Men's Basketball Player of the Week - Dec. 10
Nolan Huot, Westminster College
Huot, a junior forward, came off the bench to lead the Blue Jays to an 88-72 road win over Eureka. Huot scored 23 of his game-high 29 points in the second half. Huot connected on six three-pointers and with his hot hand, the Blue Jays were able to extend their three-point lead at half-time to a 16 point margin of victory at the end of the game. Huot also added five rebounds and went 9-of-10 from the free-throw line.
SLIAC Men's Basketball Player of the Week - Dec. 3
Robert Bendingfield, Spalding University
Bendingfield, a sophomore from Louisville, Ky., put up a career-best week in helping the Golden Eagles pick up two conference wins. He scored 22 points, setting a new career high, in a come from behind win over Principia; adding two assists and three steals. Bendingfield topped that with a new career high of 27 points in a win over Eureka, adding nine rebounds and five assists. He shot 58-percent from the field for the week and finished with averages of 24.5 points, 8.0 rebounds, 3.5 assists, and 2.0 steals per game.
SLIAC Men's Basketball Player of the Week - Nov. 26
Karson Hayes, Blackburn College
Hayes, a junior guard from Little Rock, Ark., led the Beavers to an 81-77 win over Elmhurst last week. Hayes netted 23 points in the win, going 6-of-11 from the field including 5-of-7 from three-point range. Hayes also grabbed six rebounds and recorded two steals while going 6-of-6 from the free-throw line.
SLIAC Men's Basketball Player of the Week - Nov. 19
Dakota Bennington, Eureka College
Bennington, a junior from Peoria, Ill., put up three 20-point games for the Red Devils last week. He averaged 26.0 points and 6.0 rebounds in the three contests, shooting 53-percent from the field and averaging 8.3 free-throws per game. Bennington had a high of 29 points against Berea and knocked down 5-of-13 three's on the week.
SLIAC Men's Basketball Player of the Week - Nov. 12
Micah Paulson, Principia College
The first St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week winner is Micah Paulson from Principia College. Paulson, a senior from Vancouver, Wash., was at the forefront of the Panthers offense in their first two games of the season. Paulson put up a high of 31 points against Millikin. In the two games, he averaged 29.0 points and 2.5 assists per game while shooting 59-percent from the floor. He connected on six three-pointers during the week and knocked down 18-of-22 free throws.
