Panthers Pour in SLIAC Record 167 Points in Win

The Greenville University men's basketball team continues their assault on the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference record book, pouring in a conference record 167 points during their win over MacMurray College on Thursday night. The Panthers defeated MacMurray 167-145, setting SLIAC records for points scored by one team and three-point field goals by one team in a game. The combined 312 points are also the second most in conference history.

Greenville scored 80 points in the first-half before upping that total to 87 in the second-half. Greenville's mark of 167 points surpasses the previous record set by Fontbonne University last January. In that game, Fontbonne and Greenville combined for 318 points, a SLIAC, and NCAA Division III record. Greenville now holds eight of the top ten scoring games in league history.

Greenville also set a new SLIAC record with 30 three-point field goals on Thursday night, going 30-for-74 in the game. The 30 three-pointers break the old mark of 28 which Greenville set in December 2017.

Greenville had three players reach 20 points with Isiah Price and Eric Williams leading the way with 25 points each. Greenville is currently 13-6 overall and 10-2 in the SLIAC.
