2015-16 Men's Golf Players of the Week

April 20
Hunt Lenz is this week's SLIAC Golf Player of the Week after helping his team to a second place finish at the Weist Foundaction Classic last weekend. Lenz, a senior from Louisville, Ky., took first place in a field of 94 golfers. Lenz shot a one under par for the event, averaging 71.5 strokes per round.

March 30
Justin Onken, a junior from Easton, Ill., is the SLIAC Golf Player of the Week for the first week of the spring season. Onken paced the Gorloks to a 7th place finish at the Wynlakes Collegiate Inviational in Montgomery, Ala. Onken shot a two day score of 153, his second lowest score of the year, and his second round of 75 was the best performance by a Gorlok in the field. Onken finished the tournament tied for 20th out of 63 golfers, averaging 76.5 strokes per round.

Oct. 7
Webster University's Tyler Thorman is the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Golf Player of the Week for a second consecutive week after placing in the top 15 in two events. Thorman finished tied for 14th in the Rhodes Fall Classic, shooting a two day score of 148. He finished +4 in the tournament that featured 93 golfers. Thorman then captured a second place finish in the Big Blue Fall Classic, beating out 67 other golfers. He finished one under par for the tournament, shooting a two day total of 139.

Sept. 23
Webster University's Tyler Thorman is the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Golf Player of the Week after a pair of performances last week. Thorman, a senior from Macobm, Ill., battled in a pair of competitive fields last week; competing in the Frank Wrigglesworth BluGold Classic and the Rhodes Fall Classic. Thorman shot a two day score of 156 in the BluGold Classic, finishing tied for 36th out of 104 golfers. He bettered his performance in the Rhodes Classic, shooting a two day score of 148, just four over par, and tied for 14th in the field.

Sept. 9
Jon Hughes, Webster University- Webster University's Jon Hughes is the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Golf Player of the Week for the first week of the 2015 fall season. Hughes, a junior from Gardner, Kan., tied for 5th in the Culver's Edgewood Invitational last week. His two round score of 147 was just five over par and helped his team finish fourth out of 13 teams in the field. Hughes' round included a second round low of 70, the second lowest score in the tournament.
