Webster Takes Second In SLIAC Filled Field

Webster University placed second in the Big Blue Fall Invitational this past weekend, beating out three other St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference programs in the eight team field.

Webster shot a two day score of 586, finishing 13 strokes behind the leader Parkland Community College. The Gorloks bettered their score by eight strokes on the second day. Tyler Thorman paced the Gorloks with a 139, finishing second overall. Thorman tied for the low round of the event, a 67, on the second day and finished just four strokes behind the overall winner. Jon Hughes tied for fourth with a 144.

MacMurray College took fifth place in the event with a team score of 614, including a 294 on the second day. The Highlanders were led by Jacob Hierlmeier, who shot a 149 to finish tied for 17th individually. Fontbonne finished sixth in team scoring with a 619. Brian Easton led the Griffins with a two day score of 148, tying for 13th place individually. Blackburn took seventh place with a 625 as Matt Liddell led the way for the Beavers with a 156, tying for 40th place individually.
