The Spalding University men's golf team wrapped up the season placing 15th out of 41 teams in the NCAA Division III Men's Golf Nation Championships in Rochester, NY. The Golden Eagles finished the tournament shooting a 305-308-316-317=1246 team score. Claremont-Mudd-Scripps won the team championship.

Jonathon Gandia was the Golden Eagles highest individual finisher placing 31st shooting a 73-76-79-78=306 four-round total. The senior from Louisville, Ky. started at the 10th hole and was strong out of the gate birdying two of his first six holes and was at even-par through nine holes. Gandia struggled on the next nine shooting six over-par including a double bogey on the fourth hole to finish with a 78 on the day.

Anthony Irwin finished four strokes behind Gandia carding 75-73-81-81=310. Irwin was at 17th on the individual leaderboard following a 75-73=148 through the first two rounds. However, Irwin slipped down the leaderboard following a pair of 81's in the last two rounds. On the final day, Irwin had difficulty early shooting plus-seven through nine holes, but bounced back on the final nine birdying the second hole and finishing two over-par.

Brandon Sanner and Michael Vick finished one stroke apart. Sanner shot 78-80-78-80=316, while Vick carded 79-79-81-78=317. Sanner was up and down throughout the round holing a team-best three birdies on the final 18, but matched them with three double-bogeys. Vick, like most struggled on holes 10-18 shooting five-over, but rebounded on the final nine holes and birdied the last hole to finish six-over for the day.

Senior Hunt Lenz rounded out the Spalding five-man playing his way to an 82-85-78-85=330. Lenz, the Golden Eagles number two heading into nationals, struggled most of the tournament. Lenz looked to be turning it around carding a 78 in Thursday's round, but ended the tournament shooting an 85 on the final day.
