Iowa Wesleyan Tops Two SLIAC Schools In Tiger Classic

The spring golf season is under way with three St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic programs teeing it up this week in the Tiger Classic hosted by Iowa Wesleyan University. Iowa Wesleyan took fourth place in the one day event while fellow SLIAC members Blackburn College finished 7th and Eureka College placed 10th.

Host Iowa Wesleyan, playing in Fort Madison, Iowa at the Sheaffer Memorial Golf Course, finished with a team score of 323, just 10 strokes off the tournament leader. The Tigers were led by Patrick Zielinski and Michael Neff, who each shot a 78 to finished tied for fourth in the field. Bo Vitale gave the Tigers a third top-25 finisher by shooting an 83.

Blackburn finished the tournament with a team score of 341, finishing seventh. Kyle Kesingel and Tyler Solie tied for the team lead with an 83; tying them for 25th overall. Eureka placed 10th with a team score of 482 as Brody Hibbard led the way with a 94.

Hannibal-LaGrange College won the event with a team score of 313 and Trojan golfer Calvin Anthenat took home top individual honors with a 74.
