Hughes Paces Gorloks, Finishes 2nd Overall

The Webster University golf team shot a third round 309 to finish at 899, and in third place, at the Pinecrest Collegiate Invitational, on March 14 in Longview, TX.  Jon Hughes completed a strong tournament with his second straight round of 70, to finish at 213 and in second place.

Webster was in third place overall, but had the lowest score in its 'division', not including community college programs.  Hughes (SR, Gardner, KS/Gardner Edgerton) had the lowest score of any individual outside of community college participants, shooting a consistent tournament at 73-70-70.

Will Murphy (SO, Staunton, IL/Mt. Olive) was second for the varsity, shooting a 227 and finishing tied for 20th.  Matt Gordon (SR, St. Clair, MO/St. Clair) was tied for 18th at 226, shooting for the Webster JV squad, and had the second lowest third round score at 74 of all nine Gorlok golfers.

Webster travels to Montgomery, AL, on March 27-28, for the Huntingdon Wynlakes Intercollegiate.
