2019-20 Golf Player of the Week

Will Hocker, Webster University

Hocker opens up the spring golf season as the SLIAC Men's Golf Player of the Week. The junior from Grapevine, Texas placed 2nd overall at the BSN Sports Dataw Invitational. He shot a three-round score of 219, three over par, to tie for second in a field of 88 players. Hocker tied for the tournament lead with 13 birdies and had a low score of 72 in the opening round. He helped the Gorloks to a 2nd place finish as a team as well.

Patrick Mattar, Knox College

Mattar, a freshman from Chicago, Ill., helped Knox to a first-place finish at this week's SLIAC Fall Preview. Playing a field complete with golfers from the SLIAC, Mattar finished in first place individually. He shot a one-round score of 73, besting the field of 53 golfers.

Will Hocker, Webster University

Will Hocker wrapped up his fall season with a 2nd place finish at the Tempest Intercollegiate Tournament. The junior from Grapevine, Texas shot a three-round total of 224, finishing 8 over par for the tournament. He closed out the tournament with a low round of 73 and drained seven birdies through the three rounds. He helped the Gorloks to a 3rd place team finish as well.

Cole Pickett, Webster University

Pickett, a senior from Greenville, Ill., took home medalist honors at the Country Club Classic and in doing so earned the SLIAC Men's Golf Player of the Week award. Pickett shot a two-under 140 for the two-round event, besting 53 other golfers. With his back-to-back rounds of 70, he helped Webster tie for 2nd as a team at the event.

Will Hocker, Webster University

Hocker, a junior from Grapevine, Texas, receives his second Player of the Week honor for the fall season after a 3rd place individual finish at the Rhodes College Fall Classic. Hocker carded a three-round 211 that included two rounds in the 60's. He concluded the event with a 67 in the third round, finishing five-under for the tournament. The Gorloks finished 4th as a team in a field of 20 teams.

Jack Dwyer - Lake Forest College

Jack Dwyer claims the SLIAC Men's Golf Player of the Week for September 18. Dwyer, a freshman from Leawood, Kan., was the top finisher for Lake Forest at the Midwest Region Classic. He shot a two-round score of 156, finishing in a tie for 42nd place in the field of 192. Dwyer lowered his score by four strokes from the first round, highlighted by a pair of birdies in the second round.

Zac Ciesla - Webster University
Ciesla, a senior at Webster University, takes home SLIAC Men's Golf Player of the Week honors for September 11. Ciesla, from Lake Charles, La., tied for first at the Tim Kopka Memorial Tournament last weekend. He finished with a two-round score of 137, finishing five under par. Ciesla shot rounds of 69 and 68.

Will Hocker started off the fall season for the Gorloks with a first-place finish in the Culver's Edgewood Fall Classic. Hocker, a junior from Grapevine, Okla., carded a two-round score of 135. That put up seven under par, winning the event nine shots. He scored a 67 in the first round and followed with a 68 in the second round.
