Principia Men's Soccer Kicks Off with Pre-Season Tour of England

ELSAH, Ill. - Principia men's soccer team left for England this past Thursday, August 12, for their eagerly awaited preseason tour that launches the 2010 season. The tour will see them experience the rich British soccer culture while also taking in some of its fabulous sightseeing and arts. The Panthers play four preseason games while also training at some of the top soccer academies in the world including West Ham United training center and Everton's training center.

The Panthers also get to watch the kickoff of the premier league season taking in a mouthwatering clash between Manchester United and Newcastle United. The Panthers will also face tough opposition in their four scheduled matches. A tour of Old Trafford is also on tap.

Returning on the 20th, the team begins regular sports camp on the 23rd at which point the incoming freshmen class will join the proceedings as the Panthers get ready for yet another solid year. Despite the losses of one of the Panthers top senior class, the new nucleus of players coming in and the growth and development of the returning members, the Panthers should once again be contenders in the SLIAC.
