NSCAA Names Four SLIAC Players To All-Central Team

Four SLIAC student-athletes have been named to the NSCAA/Continental Tire NCAA Division III All-Central Region Team. Aden Abdirahman, Julio De Leon, Muhle Dlamini, and Mike Wells were all recognized by the NSCAA for their 2014 seasons.

Muhle Dlamini, a senior defender from Westminster College, was named First Team All-Central after helping guide the Blue Jays to their second consecutive NCAA Division III Tournament appearance. With Dlamini guarding the back line the Blue Jays allowed just 22 goals this year, the third fewest in the conference while recording the most shutouts this year with eight.

Julio De Leon, a junior from midfielder from Spalding University, was named to the Second Team. Since arriving in the SLIAC three years ago De Leon has been one of the premier playmakers in the league, recording double digit assists in each of his three years. This past season De Leon finished with seven goals and 10 assists while helping pace the top offense in the league.

Aden Abdirahman, a sophomore from Spalding University, recorded 13 goals and four assists this past year while earning Third Team All-Central Team honors. Abdirahman added three game winning goals and was second in the league in goals scored. Abdirahman teamed with De Leon to help lead Spalding to their first ever SLIAC Men's Soccer Tournament appearance.

Mike Wells, a senior midfielder from Webster University, was named to the Central Region Third Team after helping Webster to an undefeated SLIAC regular season. Wells led the Gorloks with seven goals and 10 assists and was named the 2014 SLIAC Offensive Player of the Year.
