Principia Announces Soccer Coaching Changes

The College Athletic Department is pleased to announce a number of new hires and changes within the men's and women's soccer programs.

Jess Semnacher has been promoted to Director of Soccer responsible for both men's and women's programs at the college.  This is a newly created position and represents a restructuring of the our soccer programs at the college.  Over the past four years, Jess  has been coaching our women--leading the team to the NCAA National Tournament in 2011 and conference tournament finals three out of the past four years.  He was named Coach of the Year in 2011.  From 2008-2010 he served as assistant men's coach.  Jess was a member of our men's team from 2002-2005, trained in Brazil with the Corinthians U-23 team in 2005, played in Spain with Carranza and San Sebastian de Los Reyes and in the US with the St. Louis Lions and Seattle Wolves.  Jess holds coaching certifications from the United States Soccer Federation ("B" license) and the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (Premiere diploma).  
 
Nicole Gervais has been hired to serve as Deputy Director of Soccer.  A Principia and SLIAC Hall of Fame member, Nicole achieved all-time career marks in total points, goals and assists during a stellar playing career.  An assistant women's coach at Principia for five years, Nicole has also served as head women's coach at Whittier for four years.  Nicole will be working with both men's and women's teams.  A graduate of our GA program, Nicole earned a master's degree in Sport Coaching from the United States Sports Academy.  She also holds the Advanced National diploma from the National Soccer Coaches Association of America.
 
Meagan Fleming has joined the soccer program as Associate Director.  Also charged with responsibilities for the men's and women's programs, Meagan will coordinate recruiting,  travel, schedules, practices plan, fitness, and functional training.  Meagan is a Principia soccer alum, a graduate of our GA program with an earned master's degree in Sport Science and Recreation from Ohio University, and holder of an Advanced National diploma from the National Soccer Coaches Association of America.  Meagan has served Principia College and School in a number of coaching capacities—primarily in soccer for the past six years.
