Belman Ties Westminster Career and Season Win Marks

Westminster's goalkeeper Raul Belman tied the career and season goalkeeper wins record during today's 2-0 shutout over Blackburn. He now has 34 career wins and 12 season wins in goal. The Westminster men's soccer team remains undefeated in St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SLIAC) play with a 6-0 record and are now 12-2 on the season. 

Junior Tripp Sheehan scored the first goal of the game with just 11 seconds remaining in the first half off a penalty kick.

The Blue Jays did not score again until just 1:11 was left in the game. Junior Drew Cook scored off the assist from junior Josh Jaycox to take the 2-0 lead. 

Westminster outshot Blackburn 29-4. The Blue Jays took nine shots-on-goal total with two shots going in the net. The Blue Jays also outnumbered Blackburn 11-0 on corner kicks.

Belman (12-2) posted two saves in his 90 minutes in the net. 

The Blue Jays complete their away season in Thursday, October 22, at Principia College. The game starts at 6:00 pm in Elsah, Illinois.
