Galla Named Westminster Head Men's Soccer Coach

The Westminster College athletic department announced the appointment of Adam Galla as the Head Men's Soccer Coach. Galla becomes the 13th coach in program history.

"We are excited to bring Adam into the Westminster family," said Director of Athletics Tracey Braden. "We look forward to what he can add to the already successful program."

Galla will take over the men's program on August 1. The men's team has made three consecutive NCAA Tournament appearances and won back-to-back-to-back St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SLIAC) Tournaments.

"I would like to thank President Akande and Tracey Braden for giving me the opportunity to be a part of the Westminster College family," said Galla. "It is a great academic school with such tradition and history. I'm very excited to continue the great success of the men's soccer program, and look forward taking the program to even heights. I know that the student-athletes we have in our program will exemplify everything Westminster College represents both on and off the field."

Galla comes to Westminster after spending four seasons as the head men's soccer coach at Division III Lakeland College in Sheboygan, Wis. In 2013, the Muskie's men's team broke record for roster size and best eight-game start in program history. He doubled as the women's coach for the first two seasons, compiling 26 career wins.

Prior to Lakeland, Galla spent four seasons as the assistant men's and women's soccer coach at Central Methodist University in Fayette, Mo. He served as the head JV coach and helped lead the teams to the conference tournament in 2011. The 2011 women's team also broke school season records in wins, goals scored, and lowest goal-against average.

He served as head coach for the Columbia Pride U-17 Boys' team and as an assistant coach for the 1996 Girls Olympic Development Program (ODP) team. Galla holds the United States Soccer Federation 'D' license as well as the NSCAA Advanced National Diploma.

Galla was a four-year letter winner at neighboring William Woods University and was the backbone of the Owls' defense. He received his bachelor's degree in social work from William Woods in 2007, and received a master's degree in education from Central Methodist in 2011.
