Six Named To Men's Soccer All-Region Team

Six players from the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference have been named to the 2018 United Soccer Coaches NCAA Division III Men's Soccer All-Region team. Representing the SLIAC this year with All-Region honors are Matt Amick, Edgar Bueno, Kornell Hilliard, Kaleb Keller, Jared McPeek, and Justin Schmidt.

Edgar Bueno and Jared McPeek were leaders on the Greenville University team, helping the Panthers capture the SLIAC Tournament Championship. Bueno, a senior midfielder, earned Third Team All-Region honors after recording two goals and seven assists this fall; ranking second in the league in assists. McPeek, a freshman forward, tallied 16 goals and four assists to also earn Third Team All-Region honors. 

Matt Amick and Justin Schmidt were standouts for Webster University, anchoring a Gorlok defense that was among the nation's best. Amick, a sophomore goalkeeper, finished with a 10-3-1 record in goal, making 83 saves with 11 shutouts. He ranked 3rd in Division III in save percentage and 6th in shutouts to earn Third Team All-Region honors. Schmidt, a junior defender, was named Second Team All-Region for the second straight year. Schmidt, the two-time SLIAC Defensive Player of the Year, led a Gorlok defense that allowed just 13 goals in 20 games this season, helping them to a school record 14 shutouts this season. 

Kornell Hilliard, a junior forward at Spalding University, was named Second Team All-Region. The forward finished with 18 goals and seven assists, totaling 43 points while notching three game-winning goals. He ranked 10th in NCAA Division III in total points and 13th in total goals. Hilliard earns Second Team honors this season after being named Third Team last year.

Kaleb Keller, a sophomore at Principia College, led the conference with 22 goals and seven assists for 51 points. He also tallied four game-winning goals and scored a goal in eight of nine conference games this season. He led NCAA Division III in goals per game and points per game while ranking 5th in both total goals and total points. This is the second consecutive year that he earned Second Team All-Region honors.
