2019 Men's Soccer Players of the Week

Kornell Hilliard, Spalding University

The senior forward captures his 4th weekly award this season after putting up back-to-back hat-tricks for the Golden Eagles last week. Hilliard, from Louisville, Ky., recorded 3 goals and 1 assist in a win over Eureka. He followed that with 3 more goals, on just four shots on goal, in a win over Blackburn. Hilliard leads all SLIAC players this season with 17 goals and 41 total points.

Trevor Massa, Spalding University

Massa closes out the regular season as the Defensive Player of the Week, his fourth award this season. The sophomore keeper recorded 8 saves in two conference wins last week, finishing with a .800 save percentage and a 1.11 goals-against average. He had a high of 5 saves in a victory over Blackburn.

Justin Gerdiman, Westminster College

A junior from Camdenton, Mo., Gerdiman netted a pair of game-winners for the Blue Jays last week. He tallied the game-winner in a 2-1 decision against MacMurray, burying the goal at the 17-minute mark. He also chipped in with an assist on the first goal of the game. Three days later he tallied both goals of his team's 2-0 win over Fontbonne; scoring in the 30th and 49th minutes. On the week Gerdiman recorded 3 goals and 1 assist for 7 points on eight shots in two games.

Nick Holland, Greenville University

Holland, a senior from Ajax, Ontario, lifted Greenville to a 2-1 win over Spalding last week. The netminder made four saves in the contest including a stop on a penalty kick in the final five minutes of the contest to secure the Panthers' victory.

Patrick Wisnewski, Westminster College

A junior forward from St. Louis, Mo., Wisnewski helped the Blue Jays to a pair of conference wins last week. He scored both goals in his team's win over Webster, doing so on just four shots. He opened the scoring with a goal just two minutes into the game and buried the game-winning goal in the 58th minute. Wisnewski finished the week with two goals on six shots. 

Clayton Henn, Spalding University

Henn, a junior from Louisville, Ky., led the Golden Eagle defense to a pair of shutout conference wins last week. He played all 200 minutes in his team's two games, holding opponents to just four combined shots on goal. 

Kornell Hilliard, Spalding University

Hilliard wins his 3rd Player of the Week award this fall after helping the Golden Eagles to a pair of conference wins last week, remaining undefeated in the SLIAC and in first-place in the standings. The senior forward set up the game-winning goal against Westminster and then netted both goals in a 2-0 win over Webster. On the week he tallied 2 goals and 1 assist on four shots on goal. 

Brantley Estes, MacMurray College

Estes, a sophomore goalkeeper, led the Highlanders to a pair of SLIAC wins last week. He played 180-minutes in net, making a total of 13 saves and finishing the week with a .867 save percentage. Estes stopped four shots against Blackburn, with the only goal coming on a penalty kick. He followed with a season-high 9 saves in a win over Greenville.

Francisco Javier Saldana, Iowa Wesleyan University

Saldana, a sophomore, had a busy week for the Tigers; netting four goals in just two games. He scored his team's lone goal against Simpson, managing to do so on his only shot. He followed that outing by tallying a hat trick and propelling his team to a 6-0 win over Blackburn. Saldana got off eight shots in the game and finished the week with 8 total points, one game-winning goal, and a shot percentage of .444.

Trevor Massa, Spalding University

Massa receives his 3rd Player of the Week award this fall after helping lead the Golden Eagles to a 2-0 win over Fontbonne University. Massa, a sophomore from Paducah, Ky., stopped all 4 shots he faced in net to record his second shutout of the season. He is currently 1st in the SLIAC in minutes played and wins. 

(Offensive) Jared McPeek, Greenville University

McPeek, a sophomore from Mansfield, Ohio, takes home top weekly offensive honors in men's soccer after helping the Panthers to a 2-1 win over Illinois College. The forward played a role in both of the Panthers goals, scoring just 35-minutes into the game to give Greenville the lead. He added an assist on the game-winning goal and finished with three points and four shots in the game. 

(Defensive) Matt Amick, Webster University

Amick takes the SLIAC Men's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week award after battling Washington-St. Louis in a 1-0 loss. Amick, a junior from St. Louis, Mo., stopped eight shots in the game, playing over 104 minutes in the double-overtime loss. His eight saves in the game were a season-high and he currently ranks 2nd in the SLIAC in goals-against average.

(Offensive) Mani Bakari, Spalding University

Bakari, a sophomore from Louisville, Ky., led the Golden Eagles to a pair of wins last week, totaling 4 goals in the two outings. He recorded his first collegiate hat-trick in a 5-0 win over Franklin, scoring his three goals on just five shots. He followed with another goal in Spalding's 7-0 win over Earlham. For the week Bakari finished with 8 points and 4 goals with eight shots.

(Defensive) Faysal Jilani, Spalding University

Jilani, a junior from Louisville, Ky., anchored a Spalding defense that recorded back-to-back shutout wins last week. With Jilani holding the line the Golden Eagles recorded the pair of shutouts over Franklin and Earlham while allowing just seven combined shots on goal on the week. Spalding now has five shutouts on the season.

(Offensive) Kaleb Keller, Principia College

Kaleb Keller, a junior, nabs his first weekly honor this season. Keller notched a pair of game-winning goals last week helping the Panthers get above .500 on the season. He tallied the only goal of the game in a 1-0 overtime win over Harris-Stowe, scoring in the 99th minute of the game. Keller followed with a goal and assist in a 2-0 win over Earlham. He buried the game-winning goal against Earlham in the 68th minute and then helped extend the lead by setting up the Panthers' second goal. On the week Keller finished with 5 points on 2 goals and 1 assist while getting off 19 shots. 

(Defensive) Kaden Keller, Principia College

Kaden Keller is the SLIAC Men's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week after helping the Panthers pick up a pair of shutout wins. Keller, a senior, led a Panther defense that allowed no goals and just 12 total shots in two games last week. He also added a goal in his team's 2-0 win over Earlham.
