2017-18 Men's Tennis Players of the Week

SLIAC MEN'S TENNIS PLAYER OF THE WEEK - APRIL 16

Jules Kitchingman, Principia College

Kitchingman, a junior from Mount Waverley, Australia, recorded a perfect week on the courts going 6-0. He was 3-0 at #2 singles and teamed with his partner Nat Kenworthy at #2 doubles for three more wins. Kitchingman cruised to singles victories over conference foes Greenville, Fontbonne, and Webster; finishing with a 36-5 set score in the three matches. His victories helped Principia capture the SLIAC regular season title, going 4-0 in conference play.

SLIAC MEN'S TENNIS PLAYER OF THE WEEK - APRIL 9

Zach Plocher, Greenville University

Plocher, a junior from Highland, Ill., picked up two overall wins last week for the Panthers. He won 6-0, 6-0 at #3 singles over Westminster. Plocher then continued the shutout streak against his opponents with an 8-0 victory at #2 doubles.

SLIAC MEN'S TENNIS PLAYER OF THE WEEK - APRIL 2
Brody Swan, Principia College

Swan, a junior from Edmond, Okla., racked up a 3-1 record last week for the Panthers. He registered a pair of singles wins and a doubles win during two team matches. Against Illinois Tech he won 6-3, 6-2 and he followed with a 6-4, 6-2 win against Lake Forest; with both matches coming at #5 singles. Swan added an 8-4 win at #3 doubles over Illinois Tech.

SLIAC MEN'S TENNIS PLAYER OF THE WEEK - MARCH 26
Greg Sovie, Principia College

Sovie, a sophomore from Maggie Valley, N.C., picks up this week's SLIAC Men's Tennis Player of the Week. Sovie recorded a pair of singles wins last week while playing solid competition during the Panthers spring break trip to California. Playing at #3 singles Sovie defeated Occidental 6-4, 6-2 and Chapman 6-2, 6-1. 

SLIAC MEN'S TENNIS PLAYER OF THE WEEK - MARCH 19, 2018
Nate Wieland, Greenville University

Wieland, a senior from Mascoutah, Ill., led the Panthers last week with seven combined wins; moving to 15-3 on the season. Wieland, playing at #1 singles, recorded three victories. He topped Nazareth 6-2, 6-3 then defeated Messiah and Concordia by identical 6-2, 6-2 scores. Wieland teamed up with Justin Tilford to capture four more wins at #1 doubles including a blanking of Nazareth 8-0. 

SLIAC MEN'S TENNIS PLAYER OF THE WEEK - MARCH 12, 2018
Riley Muren, Webster University

Muren, a sophomore from O'Fallon, Ill., is the SLIAC Men's Tennis Player of the Week for March 12. Muren was 2-2 overall on the week with both wins coming at #1 singles for the Gorloks. He defeated his foe from Thomas 6-3, 5-7, 10-7 and followed with a 6-0, 6-1 win against Wisconsin-Lutheran. On the season Muren is 3-3 overall with all three wins coming in singles play.

SLIAC MEN'S TENNIS PLAYER OF THE WEEK - MARCH 5, 2018
Wyatt Dale, Principia College

Dale, a freshman from St. Louis, Mo., went 3-1 on the week for the Panthers. He won both singles matches while playing at the #1 spot and added another win in #1 doubles. Dale notched a 6-2, 7-5 win over Grinnell, the Panthers only win of the day, and followed with a 7-5, 6-2 win over Division II opponent Truman State. In doubles play he teamed up with Greg Sovie for a 9-7 win over Truman State.
