2019 Men's Track and Field Players of the Week

MEN'S FIELD ATHLETE OF THE WEEK - APRIL 22
David Martin, Greenville University
Martin, a senior from Witt, Ill., claims the weekly award after his performance in the Dewey Allgood Invitational. Martin took first place in the decathlon at the invitational, totaling 6308 points. He set personal records in the 100, long jump, high jump, hurdles, disc, and 1500. He currently ranks 12th in Division III nationally.

MEN'S TRACK ATHLETE OF THE WEEK - APRIL 22
Brandyn Robinson, Webster University
Robinson ran a pair of personal bests at the Dewey Allgood Invitational. He finished the 200-meter dash in 22.06 seconds, finishing 4th overall. He was also part of the 4x400 meter relay team that took 6th and finished in a time of 3:28.

SLIAC Men's Field Athlete of the Week
Mitchell Hooten, Greenville University
Hooten, a senior from Red Bud, Ill., competed in three events for the Panthers last week at the Greenville Select. Hooten's best finish was a 2nd place showing in the discus with a distance of 148'3". He also placed 4th in the shot put and 7th in the hammer throw. 

SLIAC Men's Track Athlete of the Week
Rakim Murphy, Greenville University
Rakim Murphy made his debut with the Panthers track and field team over the weekend, competing in five events and finishing with three top-three finishes. He was part of a 2nd place finish in the 4x100 relay team and took 3rd place in the 100-meter dash. Murphy's best performance was in the long jump, where he finished first with a mark of 22'11".

SLIAC Men's Field Athlete of the Week
Corey Carter, Principia College
Carter, a sophomore from Cincinnati, Ohio, had a record-breaking day at the Millikin Big Blue Meet. While competing in the 100 and 200-meter dash, Carter set a pair of school records. He took 1st in the 100-meter dash with a time of 10.76 seconds, which currently ranks him first in Division III. Carter finished the 200-meter dash in 21.38 seconds, garnering him another top finish and ranking him 3rd nationally.

Chris Puduski, Principia College
Chris Puduski, a junior from Godfrey, Ill., had a career day for the Panthers at the Millikin Big Blue Meet. Puduski set a new personal best distance in the hammer throw with a mark of 50.59 meters. That broke his previous best by four meters, setting a new school record. That throw also gave him a first-place finish at the meet.

SLIAC Men's Field Athlete of the Week
Greih Murray, Fontbonne University
Greih Murray is the SLIAC Men's Field Athlete of the Week. Murray, a sophomore from Jefferson City, Mo., competed in three events for the Griffins last weekend at the Dr. Creer Invite. Murray placed 4th in the discus with a distance of 34.08 meters, setting a new school record. He also threw a personal best of 28.07 meters in the hammer throw and took 10th place in the shot put.

Nathan Freyling, Webster University
Freyling, a sophomore, picks up SLIAC Track Athlete of the Week honors. While competing at the WashU Invitational Freyling finished his 5K race in a time of 15:55. That was a personal best time and he is currently 2nd in the conference rankings this season.

Dimitrije Mitic, Webster University
Mitic, a senior from Belgrade, Serbia, took 3rd place in the Javelin at the WashU Mini Meet over the weekend. His distance of 49.57 meters was a personal best and he currently leads the SLIAC and is 48th nationally in the event.

SLIAC Men's Track Athlete of the Week
Carson Gross, Webster University
Carson Gross competed in three events over the weekend to take home weekly honors. Gross, a sophomore, was part of the Gorloks 4x100 meter relay team that finished 2nd at the WashU Mini Meet, setting a school record with a time of 41.96 seconds. He also had personal best times in the 100-meter dash (11.13 seconds) and 200-meter dash (22.41 seconds). Both of those times currently place him 3rd in the SLIAC.

DeAngelo Kelly, Webster University
DeAngelo Kelly, a freshman from St. Louis, Mo., made his outdoor collegiate debut for the Gorloks with a 5th place finish at the Rhodes Invitational. Kelly placed 5th in the triple jump with a distance of 13.05 meters, currently ranking him 25th in Division III.

Jacob Ridenhour, Webster University
Ridenhour, a sophomore from Jerseyville, Ill., competed in three events over the weekend and picked up three top-four finishes. He broke the school record in the 100-meter dash with a time of 10.67 seconds, finishing 3rd overall. He also placed 4th in the 200-meter dash with a personal best time of 21.60 seconds and was a member of the 4x100 meter relay team that finished 2nd at the Rhodes Invitational.
