Eight Men From SLIAC Qualify for Track and Field Nationals

Eight male student-athletes from the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference have qualified for the 2019 NCAA Division III Track and Field Championships this weekend. The national meet will be held in Geneva, Ohio on May 23-25. 

Greenville University led the SLIAC with four representatives while Principia College and Webster University will have competitors in two events each.

The SLIAC will be well represented in the 100-meter dash with three participants among the 20 qualifiers. Webster's Jacob Ridenhour has the top SLIAC qualifying time with a mark of 10.54 seconds while two-time defending SLIAC Track Athlete of the Year Corey Carter, from Principia, and Greenville's Jeremiah Davis will also be in the prelim heats.

Carter will also be running in the 200-meter dash, where he had the second fastest time in the nation this spring with a time of 20.95 seconds. Davis and Ridenhour give the SLIAC three of the top ten qualifying times in the race and are joined by Greenville's Rakim Murphy in the field.

The Greenville 4x100 meter relay team will also compete, qualifying with a time of 41.29 seconds. The team consists of Mahari Holt, Jeremiah Davis, Di'Mond Salmond, Rakim Murphy, and David Martin.
