Two Principia Men Earn 2011 Division III All-Academic Cross Country
ST. LOUIS - Principia College's Andrew Clark and Wylie Mangelsdorf were among 141 NCAA Division III men's cross country student-athletes to earn USTFCCCA (U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association) All-Academic status for the 2011 season.
Clark and Mangelsdorf were the lone men from the SLIAC to earn the honor.
A total of 141 student-athletes represent the 80 institutions that compose the group. As a team, Haverford claimed the most on the All-Academic list with five. Five other squads: Calvin, Wabash, St. Olaf, Centre and Williams had four on the list. The NESCAC notched 13 honors to lead all conferences around the country. The SCAC and UAA followed with 12 and 11, respectively.
To qualify for the USTFCCCA All-Academic Cross Country Team, the student-athlete must have compiled a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.30 or greater through the most-recent semester and placed in the top 35 at the NCAA Regional Championships.
