2014 Men's Cross Country Runners of the Week
Oct. 20 - NATE RICHARDS, PRINCIPIA COLLEGE
Richards, a sophomore from Elsah, Ill., placed first at
the Benedictine-Springfield Invitational and helped the Panthers
capture the tournament title. Richards finished the course in a
time of 29:11, beating the nearest competitor by over
20-seconds.
Oct. 13 - NATE RICHARDS, PRINCIPIA COLLEGE
Richards, a sophomore from Elsah, Ill., picked up a second place
finish in the Cowbell Classic, his program's home meet. Richards
finished the 8K race in a time of 26:27, setting a new personal
record.
Oct. 6 - NATHAN MARK, SPALDING UNIVERSITY
Mark, a junior from Union, Ky., placed 13th individually at this
weekend's Greater Louisville Classic. Mark finished the 8k race
with a time of 26:16.71, just over one-minute behind the race
winner. Mark and the Golden Eagles finished 5th out of 42
teams.
Sept. 22 - JASON HICKSON, WEBSTER UNIVERSITY
Hickson, a senior from Hillsboro, Mo., placed 6th at this
weekend's SIU Carbondale Invitational. Hickson finished the 8K race
with a time of 25:59, a pace of 5:14 mile. He finished the meet as
the top non-NCAA Division I finisher while his meet time was the
fifth-fastest in program history.
Sept. 15 - ANDREW SHARP, GREENVILLE COLLEGE
Sharp, a freshman from Altamont, Ill., is the SLIAC Men's
Cross Country Player of the Week after a personal best time in the
ONU Illinois Intercollegiate Cross Country Championships. Sharp
finished the 8K race in a time of 26:38, placing 26th overall out
of a field of 158 runners, and helping his team to a seventh place
finish.
Sept. 8 - JASON HICKSON, WEBSTER UNIVERSITY
Hickson, a senior from Hillsboro, Mo., claimed first
place in the Hanover Invitational. Hickson finished the 8k course
with a time of 27:28, a 5:32 minute pace. Hickson placed first out
of 61 runners and becomes just the third Gorlok to capture a race
title in program history.
Sept. 2 - JESSE EDWARDS, WESTMINSTER
COLLEGE
Jesse Edwards, a junior from Rogersville, Ark., took first place
in his opening meet of the 2014 season. Edwards finished in a time
of 17:12 at the CMU Eagle Invitational, averaging a pace of 5:32
over the course.
