2015 Men's Cross Country Runners of the Week

October 19
Shane Witters-Hicks, Principia College
Witters-Hicks, a junior from Golden, Colo., is this week's SLIAC Men's Cross Country Player of the Week. Witters-Hicks captured a second place finish in the Illinois College meet this past weekend, competing in a field of 65 runners. Witters-Hicks completed the 8K course in a time of 26:44, making a move on the back half of the course; jumping up from 25th place. This marks the third time this season Witters-Hicks has won the conference weekly award.

October 12
Andrew Sharp, Greenville College
Sharp, a sophomore from Altamont, Ill., is this week's SLIAC Men's Cross Country Player of the Week. Sharp had a career best performance, placing 12th out of 167 runners. Sharp completed the 8K course in a personal best time of 26:04, cutting 44-seconds off his previous time on the course, which he ran just three weeks ago. Sharp helped his team to a 6th place finish in a field of 19 teams at the meet.

October 5
Brandon Price, Spalding University
Price, a junior from Lanesville, Ind., helped his team to a fifth place finish in the Greater Louisville Classic meet last weekend. Price finished sixth individually, completing the 8K course in a time of 26:04. Price was among 348 runners competing and averaged a 5:14 mile pace. This is the second time this season Price has been named the SLIAC Men's Cross Country Player of the Week.

September 28
Shane Witters-Hicks, Principia College
Witters-Hicks, a junior from Golden, Colo., claimed his second SLIAC Men's Cross Country Player of the Week award this season after competing in the Brissman-Lundeen Invite hosted by Augustana College. Witters-Hicks finished the 8K race in a time of 25:42, finishing 36th out of a field of 603 runners. His time was just 23-seconds off the first-place finisher, while averaging a 5:11 mile pace during the race. For Witters-Hicks the time also set a new personal best.

September 14
Shane Witters-Hicks, Principia College
Witters-Hicks, a junior from Golden, Colo., made his 8k race debut this past weekend, placing 6th in a field of 140 runners at the Les Duke Invitational hosted by Grinnell College. Witters-Hicks completed the newly designed course in a time of 26:23, dropping nearly a minute off his 2014 best time. This marks the first time he has placed in the top ten at the event.

September 7
Brandon Price, Spalding University
Brandon Pice, a junior from Lanesville, Ind., paced the Spalding team this past weekend while competing in the Belmont Opener in Nashville, Tenn. Price placed 3rd among Non-Division I runners with a time of 16:23 in the 5K meet with a 5:16 mile pace. He finished 12 seconds behind the Non-Division I winner.
