Several SLIAC Cross Country Programs Honored For Academic Success

A total of five St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SLIAC) programs were honored by the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA)for their academic success during the 2015 season.

The Principia College men's and women's cross country teams were both honored. The Panthers were the lone men's team representing the SLIAC, finishing with a team grade-point average of 3.67. The men's team just missed out on the Scholar Team of the Year, finishing just behind Ithaca College (3.69) for the top spot. The women's team finished with a 3.51 grade-point average. Both teams are coached by Chuck Wilcoxen.

The Fontbonne University women's team, coached by Dr. Chris Buckler, finished with a GPA of 3.52, picking up the national academic honor.

The Greenville College women's program recorded a 3.54 grade-point average and are coached by Brian Patton.

The Webster University women's team also represented the SLIAC, finishing with a 3.52 GPA and are coached by Dan Graber.

There were a total of 207 women's programs in NCAA Division III that finished with a team GPA of 3.1 or better and a total of 151 men's programs meeting the criteria.
