Spalding Adds Weber To Coaching Staff
Men's and Women's Head Cross Country and Track & Field Coach Bradley Sowder announced that Kelly Weber will be joining the staff this fall as a graduate assistant. Weber is a former SU student-athlete and current member of the occupation therapy graduate program.
"We are excited to add such a great personality and high-energy person to our coaching staff," said Sowder. "She has an excellent presence, and understands the vision and direction I want for the program. She will be a great addition to an already outstanding group of student-athletes and coaches."
Weber, a graduate of Holy Cross High School in Louisville, Ky., ran cross country and track while earning her undergraduate degree at Spalding. She was a member of the 2015 women's cross country team that won the first SLIAC Championship in school history. She was also named to the SLIAC Fall and Spring All-Academic Team three times.
"Kelly will help with recruiting and the program's day to day operations. I feel she will provide a very strong point of view being that she was someone we were recruiting and coaching not too long ago. It may allow her to see something from an angle I may not and will help our coaching staff enrich the life's of those we work with even more. "
Sowder stated, "I'm thrilled to go from coaching Kelly, to now having her as a co-worker!"
The Golden Eagles will kick off the 2016 season Friday, September 2 at the Berea/Centre College Cross Country Kick Off Classic in Berea, Ky.
