Principia Paces SLIAC Teams In Regionals

Principia College paced St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference members with a 14th place finish at regionals this fall. With teams competing in both the Midwest Regional and the Great Lakes Regional, the Panthers had the top finish among teams in the conference.

Principia placed 14th out of 36 teams in the Midwest Regional, compiling 391 team points. The Panthers top three runners all placed in the top 20 individually with Zach Matthiesen leading the way with an 11th place finish in a time of 23:51. Shane Witters Hicks took 15th place and Nate Richards finished 19th overall. 

2017 SLIAC Team Champion Greenville University finished 17th overall with 486 points and was led by John Mangold's 64th place finish. Webster finished 24th as Riley Flynn placed 102nd. Joseph Labitska was the top finisher for Westminster (T-210) with a time of 28:32 while Jacob Dixon led Fontbonne with a time of 29:50, finishing T-227th. 

Running in the Great Lakes Regional, Spalding University finished 32nd with 850 points. Parker Bettag led the Golden Eagles by finishing 154th with a time of 28:24.
