Kuykendall and Mangold Selected SLIAC Runners of the Year

Jessie Kuykendall and John Mangold have been selected by league coaches as the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Runners of the Year for the 2018 season. This is just the second year of the award, which was created to honor the best runner for the entirety of the racing season. 

Kuykendall, a senior from Westminster College, concluded her Blue Jay career by winning a conference record third straight individual conference championship. She won the 2018 title by 30-seconds, despite missing the previous month because of injury. Kuykendall holds the Westminster 6K record and is a four-time All-Conference honoree. 

Mangold, a senior at Greenville University, tied for the team lead with three top finishes this past fall including a team-best showing at the NCAA Division III Midwest Regional. He won the Illinois Wesleyan Opener to start the season and had a season-best 8K time of 26:21.
