Griffins to Travel to Illinois Wesleyan for NCAA DIII Softball Regional

ST. LOUIS - The NCAA announced this morning that the Fontbonne University softball team will be the #5 seed in the Bloomington, Illinois Regional of the NCAA Division III Softball Tournament. The Griffins (27-10) will play #4 seed University of Wisconsin Eau-Claire on Thursday, May 10, at noon at Illinois Wesleyan University, who is hosting the Regional.

Fontbonne is making its third straight appearance in the NCAA Tournament. The Griffins won the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SLIAC) regular season championship with a 13-1 record as well as the SLIAC Tournament Championship. Fontbonne heads into the NCAA Tournament on a 10-game winning streak and has won 15 of their last 18 games. One of their three most recent losses came to UW-Eau Claire on April 15th, 8-2.

Fontbonne is 2-10 all-time in the NCAA Tournament and has lost its last seven games in a row.
