Eureka Softball To Host Molly Hardesty Coaches Clinic

The Eureka College Softball program has announced the 2016 Molly Hardesty Softball Clinic, a one-day event tailored to softball coaches, held at the Reagan Athletic Complex on Saturday, February 6th. The clinic will be split up into a morning and an afternoon session, with lunch and a collegiate coaches' roundtable offered in between sessions.

The cost for the one-day event is $45.00. The clinic will include fielding skills and techniques, hitting mechanics and fixes, a team approach to hitting, offensive and defensive situational strategies, pitching: the mental side and corrections, and practice organization and drills.

Meet the Coaches:

Deric Linder – Head softball coach, Metamora High School

A native of Canton, Ill., Linder is in his 11th season at Metamora. Coach Linder through 10 seasons has an overall record of 250-109 with nine regional championships including eight in-a-row. His 2010 team won the 3A state championship with an overall record of 39-1. He is an alum of Eureka College and currently the defensive coordinator for the Red Devil football team.

Jordan Reynolds-Bastian – Head softball coach, Culver-Stockton College

A native of Metamora, Ill. and a graduate of Metamora Township High School. She came to Culver-Stockton after serving two seasons as a graduate assistant at her alma mater, Olivet Nazarene (Ill.) University. In those two years ONU qualified for the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) National Tournament both years, and participated in the NAIA Softball World Series, in 2014.

Heather Doty – Head softball coach, Illinois Central College

A native of Iowa City, Iowa, Doty enters her tenth season as Head Softball Coach at ICC. Doty has guided the Cougars to several winning seasons, securing a berth in the 2009 NJCAA national tournament as well as placing 5th in 2012, 4th in 2013 and 2014, and making another appearance in 2015.
