Tigers McIlwain Earns Second Player of the Week Award

The USCAA released their player of the week awards yesterday.  Samantha McIlwain (SO/Boone, IA) was named USCAA Softball Pitcher of the Week, earning her second player of the week award this week.

The player of the week awards started with games from March 8, 2016 through March 14, 2016.  During the past week for the Tigers during that time frame, McIlwain saw action in three games and pitched 12.2 innings. She recorded 20 strikeouts for Iowa Wesleyan and did not have an earned run against her.  On March 10, 2016, Iowa Wesleyan won 3-0 over Penn State-Hazelton.  McIlwain pitched seven innings and struck out 12 batters to help give the Tigers a win.
