Greenville To Face Trine In Opening Round

The Greenville softball team has been placed in the NCAA regional hosted by Wisconsin-Whitewater.  The Lady Panthers qualified for their second straight NCAA national tournament by winning the championship of the SLIAC tournament.

Greenville (24-15) will play Trine on Thursday.  It is a double-elimination regional.

The winner of the Whitewater Regional will face the winner of the La Crosse Regional.

The Lady Panthers have faced a number of opponents in the NCAA field, including Central, Wisconsin-La Crosse, and Washington-St. Louis.

Thursday, May 11 (home teams listed first):

Game 1 – Trine vs. Greenville, 1 p.m.
Game 2 – UW-Whitewater vs. Hope, 3:30 p.m.

Friday, May 12

Game 3 - Winner of Game 1 vs. Winner of Game 2, 11 a.m.
Game 4 - Loser of Game 1 vs. Loser of Game 2, 1:30 p.m.
Game 5 - Winner of Game 4 vs. Loser of Game 3, 4 p.m.

Saturday, May 13

Game 6 - Winner of Game 3 vs. Winner of Game 5, 12  p.m.
Game 7 (if necessary) - Winner of Game 6 vs. Loser of Game 6, 2:30 p.m.
