SLIAC Announces 2009-10 Women's Basketball Award Winners

ST. LOUIS – The St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SLIAC) has announced the women’s basketball All-Conference Teams and award winners for the 2009-10 season. Highlighting the award winners were Fontbonne University's Kaitlin Bramel and Webster University's Maggie Zehner.

Bramel, a sophomore, is the 2010 SLIAC Women's Basketball Player of the Year and a First Team All-SLIAC selection. She earned All-Defensive Team honors last season and led the conference this year with an average of 4.88 assists per game. Bramel also ranked second in the SLIAC in steals (2.25 per game), second in three-point field goal percentage (.376) and third in assist/turnover ratio (1.50).

Zehner has been named the 2010 SLIAC Newcomer of the Year. She averaged 9.0 points per game in conference play, while dishing out 49 assists and tallying 34 steals. Zehner was also a Second Team All-SLIAC selection this season.

Blackburn College's Mike Williams and Fontbonne University's Keith Quigley are the 2010 SLIAC Co-Coaches of the Year. It is the second time that Williams has earned the honor and it is the sixth time for Quigley. In his third year at the helm of the Blackburn program, Williams led his squad to a 12-4 conference record. Quigley is in his 14th year as the head of the Griffins program and led his squad to a 14-2 conference record and their seventh overall regular season conference championship.
