Westminster's Backes Named to D3Hoops.com Team of the Week
FULTON, Mo. - Rachel Backes, a Westminster College junior guard from Tipton, Missouri (Tipton High School), has been named to the D3Hoops.com Women's Basketball Team of the Week for January 3-9. Earlier this week, Backes was named St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Player of the Week.
Backes, who leads the SLIAC in scoring at 15.8 points a game, averaged 14 points and 6.3 assists in leading the Blue Jays to three conference wins last week. She added 3.0 steals per game, while shooting 55 percent from the floor and 50 percent from three-point range.
