Webster's Meyer Named First Team Jewish Sports Review All-American

ST. LOUIS - Katy Meyer, a senior women's basketball player for Webster University, has been named a Women's College Basketball 2010-11 First Team All-American by the Jewish Sports Review. Meyer, a 5'10" forward for the Gorloks, averaged 14.0 points and 7.2 rebounds per game in the 2010-11 season.

The Jewish Sports Review All-American Team is selected from all athletes in NCAA II and III divisions. Meyer was named for a second straight year as a First-Team selection. She was also St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference First-Team All-Conference for 2010-11, and was chosen MVP of the SLIAC Tournament, which Webster won to advance to the NCAA III Championships.

This past year, Meyer became the fifth player in Webster women's basketball history to score 1000 points in a career. In addition, she is third in career points (1192), fourth in rebounds (663), third in blocked shots (57), and first in three-point baskets made (191). She also holds the mark for 3-point FGs in a season with 76. Meyer ranked 15nd nationally in the NCAA III in 3-point FG% (42.7) and 22nd in 3-point FG per game (2.7).

She was a St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic All-Conference selection all four years.
