2015-16 Women's Basketball Players of the Week

February 22
Krista Armontrout, Westminster College
Armontrout, a junior forward from Rolla, Mo., put up back to back 20 point games last week in leading her team to a pair of conference wins and extending her team's winning streak to 14 games. Armontrout tallied 23 points and nine rebounds in a win over MacMurray and followed with 20 points against Principia. She averaged 21.5 points and 7.0 rebounds per game last week while shooting 54.8 percent from the floor. In addition she added six assists over the two games.

February 15
Emily Camden, Eureka College
Camden, a senior from Green Valley, Ill., led her team in scoring in both games last week; averaging 19.5 points per game. Camden scored a team high 14 points while battling foul trouble against Iowa Wesleyan. She rebounded nicely with 25 points in an overtime win over Fontbonne, going 7-of-12 from the field. Camden scored her team's final five points of the game against Fontbonne, including knocking down three free-throws with just 0.7 seconds remaining on the clock in overtime to give her team a two point win. This is her first SLIAC Women's Basketball Player of the Week award this season.

February 8
Kara Johnson, Principia College
Johnson, a senior from St. Louis, Mo., tuned in an impressive performance last week in securing the SLIAC Player of the Week award. Johnson, the league's leading scorer, continued to pour in the points averaging 25.0 points in two games on the week. She netted 19 points and grabbed seven rebounds against Iowa Wesleyan, going 8-of-15 from the field. Johnson then tallied 31 points, on 10-of-17 shooting, while pulling down 11 rebounds and helping her team to a win over Blackburn. On the week she shot 56.3 percent from the field, averaging 25.0 points, 9.0 rebounds, and 2.0 steals per game.

February 1
Krista Armontrout, Westminster College
Armontrout, a junior from Centralia, Mo., helped the Blue Jays take over first-place in the SLIAC standings by leading her team in scoring in two key road wins. Armontrout scored a career high 23 points, while grabbing four rebounds, in a win over Greenville. She followed with 22 points and eight rebounds in a win over Iowa Wesleyan in a meeting for first-place. In that contest Armontrout gave the Blue Jays an early advantage, scoring 14 of her team's 18 points in the opening quarter en route to the win. Armontrout shot 63.3 percent from the field on the week, going 19-of-30. She averaged 22.5 points and 6.0 rebounds over the two games. This marks the second time this season she has been named the SLIAC Women's Basketball Player of the Week.

January 25
Dakota Flesner, Iowa Wesleyan University
Flesner, a senior from Payson, Ill., averaged a double-double last week in helping Iowa Wesleyan maintain their first place lead in the SLIAC standings. Flesner averaged 23.5 points and 12.5 rebounds over two contests. She started the week with 20 points and 16 rebounds in a win over Webster. Flesner's best performance came against MacMurray when she scored 27 points with nine rebounds and three assists. She was 8-of-12 from the floor and 11-of-15 from the free-throw line. On the week Flesner shot 55.6 percent from the field.

January 18
Kara Johnson, Principia College
Johnson, a senior forward from St. Louis, Mo., shined for her team last week; averaging 21.3 points and 9.0 rebounds per game. Johnson scored half of her team's points in a loss to Greenville, finishing with 16 points. She followed with 23 points and 13 rebounds against St. Mary of the Woods and closed out the week with a near triple-double against Fontbonne; finishing with 25 points, eight rebounds, and eight assists. On the week Johnson totaled 14 assists and four steals over three games. She currently leads the conference in scoring and is fourth in rebounding.

January 11
Nadine Vaughn, Webster University
Vaughn, a junior from Pana, Ill., helped the Gorloks to a perfect 3-0 week; averaging 14.3 points, 7.0 rebounds, and 2.7 assists per game. The forward led her team in scoring in two of three games and shot 75-percent from the floor on the week. She put up 15 points with seven rebounds against Eureka. Vaughn followed with 12 points, eight rebounds, and three assists against Fontbonne and closed out the week with 16 points and four assists against MacMurray. Vaughn finished the week going 15-of-20 from the field and 13-of-17 from the free-throw line.

January 4
Emmie Haring, Fontbonne University
Haring, a junior from Ballwin, Mo., helped the Griffins to a pair of wins last week including a win over Westminster. Haring averaged 18.0 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 6.5 assists per game; shooting 65-percent from the field. In addition she added nine steals over the two games and shot 80-percent from the free-throw line. Haring scored a career high 24 points in a win over Rust with seven assists and seven steals. She folowed with 12 points and six assists in helping the Griffins snap a six game losing streak against Westminster. Haring is averaging 7.9 points this season and currently leads the conference in assists.

December 21
Brianna Markusic, MacMurray College
Markusic, a freshman from Oaklawn, Ill., stood out above the rest last week as she averaged a double-double over through three games including a pair of 20 point efforts. Markusic tallied 20 points in just 21 minutes of action against Dallas, going 10-of-19 from the floor. Going up against Sewanee, Markusic scored nearly half of her team's points; finishing with 25 points while grabbing a career high 17 rebounds and adding six steals, five blocked shots, and four assists. Against Rhodes she finished with a game high 19 points while grabbing seven rebounds and swatting away five shots. On the week she shot 55-percent from the floor, averaging 21.3 points, 10.0 rebounds, 3.3 blocks, and 2.3 steals per game.

December 14
Rachel Williams, Iowa Wesleyan University
Williams, a senior guard from Phoenix, Ariz., picks up her second consecutive Player of the Week award after leading the Tigers to a pair of wins last week including an overtime win over Westminster, a win that kept the Tigers as the only undefeated SLIAC team in conference play. Williams scored 18 points and dished out nine assists in a win over Mt. Mercy, accounting for 37 of her team's 49 points in the game. She followed with a career high 32 points in the win over Westminster, adding two assists. In two games she averaged 25.0 points, 2.5 rebounds, and 5.5 assists per game.

December 7
Rachel Williams, Iowa Wesleyan University
Williams, a senior guard from Phoenix, Ariz., is this week's St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week after helping her team to three wins last week including a pair of conference wins. Williams increased her scoring output in each game last week, starting with 18 points against MacMurray. She added nine rebounds and three steals in that contest. Williams followed with 22 points and three assists in a win over Viterbo and closed out her week with 29 points and three steals against Fontbonne. Over three games Williams averaged 23.0 points, 6.0 rebounds, 2.3 assists, and 2.3 steals while shooting 50-percent from the floor.

November 30
Jessica Jordan, Fontbonne University
Jordan, a freshman from St. Louis, Mo., is the SLIAC Women's Basketball Player of the Week after her performance against Knox College. Jordan, a forward, recorded her first career double-double with 20 points and 11 rebounds against Knox. She was 9-of-14 from the field including 2-of-3 from the free-throw line. Jordan grabbed three offensive rebounds and added two steals, one block, and one assist. Jordan is currently averaging 14.0 points and 6.5 rebounds per game this season.

November 23
Krista Armontrout, Westminster College
Armontrout, a junior from Centralia, Mo., led the Blue Jays to a pair of wins in their season opening week. Armontrout recorded her first collegiate double-double in a season opening win over Millikin, finishing with 21 points and 15 rebounds. In the win she scored nine of her team's final 15 points, pushing them to a four point win. She also added four assists and four steals in the contest. Then, in a 108-107 win over Elmhurst, Armontrout scored 20 points, on 8-of-13 shooting, while grabbing eight rebounds. On the week she averaged 20.5 points and 11.5 rebounds per game while shooting 54.8 percent from the field.

November 16

Michaela Balducci, Eureka College
Balducci, a junior from Eureka, Ill., recorded a double-double in her team's opening game, against Illinois College. Balducci netted 18 points and grabbed 11 rebounds including two offensive rebounds. She added four assists and three steals as well as one blocked shot.
