Fonseca Named New Blackburn Women's Basketball Coach
Katie Fonseca has been named as the new Head Women's Basketball Coach at Blackburn College.
Fonseca comes to Blackburn after serving as Head Women's Basketball Coach at Iowa Lakes Community College in Estherville, Iowa. Prior to serving as the Head Coach she was an assistant coach then interim head coach at Iowa Lakes.
From 2009-2014, Fonseca was the Head Girls Basketball Coach at Tonopah Valley High School in Phoenix, Arizona. From 2005-2009, she was Head Girls Basketball Coach at Copper Canyon High School in Glendale, Arizona.
The Tucson, Arizona native is a 2005 graduate of Hendrix College in Conway, Arkansas. Fonseca played four years of basketball and two years of softball at Hendrix. She was a four-time all-academic conference team member for the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference.
Fonseca received her masters degree in coaching and athletic administration at Concordia University of Irvine.
